At 78, I'm using 0/51/18 as my FFB spec. Not sure where the last 2 points are going to go.
I'd suggest taking two points out of frost channeling to cap out frostbite and shatter.

Thats what I'am looking for, the right talents to maximise my potential :)
As far as a frostfire build in general, it isn't very useful before 80. I immediately switched to a FFB build at 75 but found several problems with it. Namely, it focuses on giant critical hits and burns from ingnite. The ignite procs and huge crits can lead to overkill or wasted ignite burns on mobs that only have 9-11k hp. More suited to raid bosses with millions of hit points.
Another problem with FFB before 80 is that the scaling effect on gear absolute KILLS your critical hit rate. Most fire mages were rocking
at least a 30% critical strike rate at 70 before buffs and debuffs on the mobs were applied. Generally that's dropped about 10% which dulls the luster of a FFB build a lot. Additionally, not having shatter really hurts you when leveling. If you're going to use it for grinding I'd suggest filling out to shatter before you cap burnout.
As of now, it isn't very useful for leveling or dungeon grinding. I thought it would be fun to try out but it turned out to be more of a drag. Spamming FFB isn't that fun. I find the new frost talents and the water elemental glyph to be more useful for all aspects of the game outside of raids, which I haven't done any of since the expansion.
I still think people should give it a go and see how they like it, but you're not maxing your dps, survivability, or any other kind of potential by using a FFB build for leveling.
