I have been doing the quests in Hellfire and I have got some gear that may be a little better than my original DK gear. The problem is I totally hate to equip it. This is the first time I have had a character with cool looking matching armor that was not PVP armor and I so hate to mess that up. I know it would cause problems but I so wish we could turn pick up items black.

From the influx of sreenshots i get sent by guildies, they've really fixed the problem of what i like to call: The outland clown-suit.

I've seen some shots people who were level 68 or so before the expansion hit, and the quest reward gear looks really good. Mostly brown, or grey and black but it all seems to match up really well. I seem to remember after a few quests in Zangarmarsh on my first main having gold boots, pink shoulder pauldrons and a sickly green colored helm.

Don't wear them. Toss some cheap enchants on the rest of your gear and don't worry about it until 70.

Just dont wear them, they arent significantly better than the starting shoulders. I'm lvl67 and still using a lot of the starting gear because I only gain about 1% DPS from using the quest stuff. Since instance blues arent an option (nobody's running those things except Ramparts) it really isnt worth worrying about; replace your accessories, replace your weapon ASAP as it is the most important piece of gear for a DK (way more than other classes actually), wear a Tabard to cover your Hellfire Peninsula breastplate and keep those sexy shoulders until Northrend ;)

By the way, Im keeping ALL my visible DK gear forever. It just looks too badass to vendor.

I'm 64 and so far haven't seen a weapon drop that's better than my blue soulblade. To be honest though, I doubt I'd change it til Northrend anyway, it's one of the most badass looking weapons in the game. I wish they'd made it one of those weapons that increases in stats as you level so it'd never need to be upgraded until you start raiding at 80.

The only pieces of gear I've actually replaced is the gloves with the dark purple Hellfire ones which actually kind of work with the ensemble, and helm with the wolf's head quest thingy from Terrokar, and even then I decided not to show helm.

I refused to even complete the quest for that hellfire chestpiece so then wearing it wasn't even an option. The only tabard this toon will be wearing is the Ebon Blade one. I kept my Zanarmarsh shoulders in case I need to tank an instance (unlikely until Northrend) but I'm questing in my Scourge blues.

I'm also banking the whole set. I even kept the green starter hood and starter runeblade.

Comes from the centaurion post in hellfire. Reward for the helboar quests. Not horrible, definitely an upgrade. Looks decent enough (just a giant great katana). Besides, we can make any weapon look sexy with runeforging!

Yeah really, Ring of Blood anyone? Its easy, 5 DK can get through it and theres also that 70ish gold you get from completing the quest line.

I have a bank bag designated for all my old DK pieces but for now I am just going to enchant them and wear them. Last night I switched over to Blood spec and I am ending every fight with full life so I figure for now why upgrade.

Full Fel Iron gear is decent looking, dirt cheap and has excellent DK stats and can easily replace all the beginner items.

I knida wish I could find some evil looking 2h mace, but there isn't much to work with at level 63. I'm pretty sure once I get to 70 and beyond I'll have my fair share of cool looking weapons.
