I am thinking of trying this out at 80 to start Naxx. All the goodies out of Demo minus Metamorphisis. Still up in the air on whether or not to take that though. Thinking if dropping one point from Demonic Empathy to get it.

Basically, send in Felguard, DoT and Spam SB, with Demonic Empowerment, possible Meta, and trinkets macroed into my SB button. Kind of a lazy mans build, similar to old Demo Sac, sticking with SB.

By adding up some numbers at wow-loot.com, 600+ Haste will be very attainable pre-raiding. Hit is not as important with Shaman and Druid in the group, though some will still be needed, so stacking Haste seems like the thing to do. I guess my real concern is just how much Haste to stack? Anyone seen any good numbers on Haste yet?

Also, how's everyone doing in the leveling spree. I hit 75 last night myself. Took friday off work and played hard all weekend. Tonight I'm hoping to get at least 75% of the way to 76, if not hit it. With half a level a day I'm hoping to be 77 when I start Firday night, and stay up late Firday and hit 78. Then go for 79 Saturday and 80 Sunday. That's my goal anyway, and it seems attainable if I can keep up the pace I have been,

I did 74 in two days. Affliction. I can't fault it. Unkillable and able to grind way quicker than any other spedc. If it wasn't for work and girlfriend, I think I'd be 80 by Wednesday.

As it happens, 80 will be end of this week I think.

Haven't looked at any other spec yet.

Just so you know, I hate you both....really I do....

I have 5 70s and will start leveling my lock tonight when i get home. Won't be 80 by this weekend though...

I am spending too much time enjoying the new lore, and the scenery.

exploring the scenery and lore is for my alt to do. My main needs to be ready to raid after Thanksgiving weekend. I've been following Jame's Leveling guide to the T and flying through levels when I play. As of Sunday I was highest in my guild, however, most of them have more time to play during the week than me, some of them are already 78/79. I did hit 76 last night though, and got about 33% in. I doubt I'll hit 77 tonight, but tomorrow for sure, then Friday I'm gonna pull an all nighter and go for 78. 79 and 80 should be easy to get between Saturday and Sunday.

2 Questions:

Why are you putting 2 points in Master Conjurer instead of putting one in Demonic Sacrifice? I mean, without using Metamorphosis, are Spell Stone or Fire Stone worth it (Note: I'm not saying Spell Stone helps in Demon Form)?

Do you think it may be worth putting a point in Metamorphosis instead of, say, the second point in Destructive Reach? You lose some range and threat mitigation... But, since you are primarily Demo, your threat should be lower than other DpS classes anyway (excpet Beast Master Hunters).

Why put a point in Demo Sac? I'll never sac my Felguard in a raid. With the removal of Oils, I want to extra buffs from Firestone. You do know about the change to them right? They no longer take up your wand slot, and instead are applied as a weapon buff, like Wizard Oils.

As for taking Meta, well, I'm gonna test both with and without over a few weeks. Really all it is though is an extra trinket, maybe save to raid if things go bad near the end of a boss fight or on trash. Hadn't thought about taking the point out of Destructive Reach. I'm gonna play around with things and see one I start getting into Heroics/Raids.

@Lathais - when Beta forums were still up, the statement was made that there would be situations where it would be more beneficial to not have a pet out than to have it out. Granted, they have made it far easier for non demo locks and hunters both to be more capable of having pets out in most situations, Demo will still have an edge with Demo Sac in the event a particular encounter happens to not be pet-friendly. So, really, Demo Sac will be a point worth taking. As for Destructive Reach, Demo is a lot more reliant on DD (read, Incinerate/SBolt and Immolate) than affliction, so Destructive Reach is still a potential winner for Demo specs for threat reduction. Granted, threat generation for tanks has greatly been buffed (I usually average ~1600 tps on a 64 prot warrior that has all northrend gear other than weapon - didn't hit 70 until Nov. 13th on that toon), but threat reduction is still nice, if you can find the points for it. Intensity will likely prove more valuable, however, for the pushback resistance (especially if there are no Imp. Conc. Aura paladins in your raid).

For the most part, DSac will probably be an oh **** button, but it's still a one-up over non-ferocity pets (hunters, esp. BM) and non-Demo locks. I would spend the point.

I have yet to be able to pull hate of my tank in heroics, despite Searing Pain spam in a desperate attempt, without Destructive Reach, so I think I'll leave that out entirely and take Meta and another point in Mana Feed. There's also Soul Shatter.

As for Demonic Sacrifice, well, I am just not gonna take it. If there are non-pet friendly fights, I'll just pull out the Imp and leave him Phase shifted. Granted my 10-man group does have 2 warriors, so Blood Pact will be over-written, but I can use Incinerate in those cases, as my Imp will be buffing my Fire Damage with Master Demonologist.

Oh yeah, dinged 80 yesterday afternoon by the way, and ran 2 Heroics. Definately running more tonight.

Edit:

Thinking about it, maybe I should keep 1 point in Mana Feed and put the other point in DS. Just in case. Can't really hurt right?

Lathais,
I just spent a while fooling around with talents and came up with something very similar to yours. I would say that yours is the best for raiding because of demonic pact. I opted to put a point into Devestation and leave 2 out of demonic pact. I guess I had more quest soloing type play in mind though. I still have a lot of leveling to do (been busy).

After running a couple more Heroics, and having a piece of info brought to my attention, I am thinking of moving 3 points.

Demonic Empathy is only on abilities. Granted on a boss fight, Felguards Cleave is normally on, but that's the only thing that will proc it me. Also, when I proc it for him, only his cleave is affected.

Combine that with the fact that he died fairly easy on a few fights, and maybe moving those 3 point to Demonic Resilience.

Final Answer on Demo build:
