Ok, so I finally got my account to Wrath and started playing. I got my DK created, did all the quests, and now am in the "normal world" so to speak. I'm beginning to understand the rune system and the abilities, but I do have one issue: how to setup my action bars. I have the same problem managing spells with my Warrior, though any other class I do alright.

How do you all find is the best way to set up your action bars? With Paladin/Shaman I jsut grouped my spells into healing/defensive, offensive (Paladin) tanking, etc.. Warlock I found groupign spells a good way to go for me, and Hunter as well. For my DK though, I am totally stumped in deciding how would be a good way to lay out my spells.

Know that I'm a button pusher. Key bindings confuse the hell outta me. There's no way I could remember what spells are tied to what keys. I mean, I have the raid icons keybound and I don't even remember all of those most of the time, lol. Right now I just have spells grouped by Unholy, Blood, and Frost, but it's very awkward, so any suggestions would be great :)

If I were you I would find a good rotation that works for you and put the spells in that order on your action bar.

This will make it an easy 1,2,3,4 ect rotation for you.

I myself am a clicker, that way I can set up different rotations on my action bars for different situations.

I tend to group things by how often I use them. Things that get used constantly (plague strike, death coil, etc) get the low number hotkeys and things that don't get constant use or have relatively long CDs (death and decay, mind freeze, etc) get the high numbers. Things that have longer CDs or have very situational uses (raise dead, path of frost, etc) get put on a separate action bar and don't get a hotkey.

Simple...For leveling just use /castsequence macro.

Blood: /castsequence reset=combat/target Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Heart Strike, Death Strike, Death Coil, Death Coil, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Death Coil, Death Coil, Death Coil

Unholy Single Target: /castsequence reset=combat/target Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Scourge Strike, Unholy Blight, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Scourge Strike, Death Coil

Unholy Multi-target: /castsequence reset=combat/target Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, Blood Boil, scourge Strike, Unholy Blight, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, Blood Boil, Scourge Strike, Death Coil

Unholy Single Target: /castsequence reset=combat/target Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Death Strike, Blood Strike, Death Coil, Blood Strike, Scourge Strike, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Death Strike, Scourge Strike, Blood Strike, Death Coil, Plague Strike, Blood Strike

The last unholy single target macro i just made last night, i made it to stock up on runic power a bit more for leveling in areas with higher level mobs or lots of alli as a cushion (can easily hit any button i need if sh*t happens). But for leveling purposes those greatly simplify the "which button do i push" problem. Every now and then you may have problems with not enough runic power, but the mob is usually about dead by then so just hit Blood strike to finish it off. Please feel free to bash, compliment, or ask questions on the macros.

Edit for Grammar.

NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I cannot STRESS NO enough. If you rely on a castsequence macro, and one of your initial diseases misses (as will happen OFTEN while leveling since you won't be hit capped), it will ***** up the ENTIRE REST OF YOUR ROTATION. Learn how to deal with misses, learn how to actually DO a rotation instead of mashing one key, LEARN how to PLAY DEATH KNIGHT. Plus if you get used to it, you will be a mindless ****** trying to dps at 80. Don't be a deathtard, learn how to play the class.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Get it? No.

@OP I'm unholy and this is my UI and what I have on my bars

Alrighty, thanks for the tips guys :) Getting a little better feel for it, but I'm mostly concerned with leveling my Paladin right now, so we'll see how much time I put into the DK ;)

Oh, I probably should have stated too, that I'm not much into macros either >.> For the reasons Dilbrt mentioned mostly. But, thank you for the input regardless :)
