Well, I succumbed to all the hype and decided to roll a DK, if only to see the opening sequence and the beginner quests, which I was assured were 'awesome'

I certainly wasn't disappointed; I loved the gameplay and the way the scenery changed as you progressed with your quests. I screwed up royally on the last quest though...hence the post.

'The Light of Dawn', essentially the last starter quest you do... I accepted the quest from Highlord Morgraine to head to Light's Hope Chapel and defeat their forces, not realizing it was a scripted/timed event. Freakin' phone rang and I AFK'd for 2 mins, and lo and behold, I get back and see a "Quest Complete" The army went and took LHC without me, lol! So, I missed all the fun, and the lore that would have explained how I changed my evil ways under the command of the Lich King.

Not sure if I could have abandoned and retried it, since it was marked as complete, so I just picked up the next step and continued on...

Can anyone explain the mystery to me?

/sad panda

PS Why yes, I do feel like an idiot.

Yes, you could've abandoned and retried.

If I were you, I'd delete that DK and reroll. The end scene is just that awesome.

It'll only take you an hour or two to get back anyways.

Also: rip the phone cord out of the wall when you're about to watch the scene. You'll thank me for it.

Here's basically what you missed.

*****SPOILERS*****

Arthas: Die Tirion! Force Lightning!

Tirion: No way! Bubble, Force Jump, I win!

Arhtas: Damn, I suck. I'll get you next time though! (leaves)

Tirion: Yo, DKs. I used a mysterious and unexplained secret weapon to free you all from the Lich King. Go be good guys now. Later dudes.

ROFL !!

Seriously, that was great, Karlina. I probably will delete the toon and start over; I NEED to see that scene, now. (My main is 73 and I have 4 other level 70's I haven't even brought to Northrend yet, so the thought of levelling yet another toon through Outlands makes me cringe)

And yes, phone cord will be yanked and my kids in bed and asleep when I re-do, so I'm guaranteed no interruptions. =D

One of my favorite lines in a movie (I forget which movie it is) is when the hero is captured and later he shows up on the scene with his group/friends. His line is classic, "I escaped somehow. Let's go!".

I'm about 3 or 4 quests (I'm guessing ... haven't researched the questline, as I intend to feel the impact of everything that happens, as it happens) from the end.

Now, while it's been very hard to impossible to avoid the general flow of what happens ultimately, I still am very much in the dark as to how everything turns out.

I do, however, know that Tirion Fordring is involved, as he is with that epic questline in EPL, which ends near Hearthglen. Being a post-vanilla Wow player, I've not yet experienced that quest line, although I've heard of how it goes (pretty much in the same way that I've heard about the Light of Dawn.

So, my question is, would it be beneficial (from a richness of experience /Lore Point of View), to first do the EPL Tirion Fordring questline (It's called Redemption, I think), or would I be worse of not doing the 2 in sequence (I believe that in the original quest line, he explains a bit about himself, background, etc) ... hmmm, maybe I've just answered my own question.

What say you guys.

Totally loving the DK, as well as the questline ... I've only done 3 quests in Howling Fjord on my Mage so far, and if the rest of the questing experience is a fraction as enjoyable as the DK quests, I'm in for a whale of a time.

p.s. I'm not talking about doing the original Redemption questline first on my DK - aside from that being silly, I think it's not possible. I'll run it through on a level 70 (will be quick, and no xp, but the idea is to get the story)
