How do you beet warlocks (as a shadow priest)?Follow

I have a decent record against warlocks who are using an imp, voidwalker, or succumbus. But the felhunter really takes the cake.. It's really difficult to cast spells when the warlock is hitting you with bolts or wanding you while the felhunter gnaws away at you in melee.. AND the felhunter counters your spell when your casting bar for mind blast or vampiric touch makes it far enough. I don't want to waste a psychic scream on the felhunter alone.. I'd save it when i'm close to both the warlock and the felhunter but the lock keeping kiting me away when I run towards him.

Btw, I'm currently lvl 59 so I dunno how's the situation at lvl 70+.

Run away, lol. Warlocks are made to be caster-aters.

A Felhunter + Warlock is one of the hardest opponents you'll find, especially as a Shadow Priest. He will eat your buffs while doing a decent bit of damage against you and silencing your casts. That's pretty much the definition of a screwed Shadowpriest. However, there's ways to do it depending on the fight and the specc.

Make sure you are specced for Silence, for one. Make sure you have your PvP trinket ready and have Fear Ward up. That should eat two Fears consecutively. The rest comes down to who jumps who. If you come first on the Warlock, you can just start nuking and stacking DoTs. Do NOT wait until both are in range. Fear the Felhunter as soon as he's in range. This will allow you to just keep nuking the Warlock.

If he's still in range, make sure you keep Inner Fire up, as he will keep eating it. Without Inner Fire, he's quite a damaging DoT and will eat you whether or not the Warlock bothers fighting you. You will be going out of Shadowform quite often to remove Corruption and such, so make sure you start the fight with the shapeshifting mana you'll need.

If you can't nuke him down, you are pretty much screwed. In the long run, a Felhunter warlock will always win against a Shadowpriest.

As disc spec I just outlast them. I think its a better vs. caster spec. As soon as the fight starts I throw PW:S and prayer of mending on myself along with a fear ward. DoT up the warlock and fear the pet. So meanwhile he's taking 45% of the damage his DoT's are doing along with mine. After I put my shield along with a renew cast up, I hit the lock with a holy fire, smite, along with a new DoT cycle and commence letting him chase me around till he dies. As a shadow priest I couldn't tell you. But I dueled a shadow priest once who was incredible. Killed me in a matter of seconds and I didn't even get a single spell off.

This.

If you enjoy Disc, that is. As a Shadowpriest, outlasting ain't an option.
