I keep hearing how haste will be good to MM hunters up until 1.5 sec steady shots. Why only MM hunters? Do BM hunters not get any benefit from haste (other than the autoshot). The reason I ask is that I am a BM hunter. I only have 3 pieces of gear that has any haste on it. If I take off that gear my steady shot is 2 sec. When I put it on (think its like 82 haste) my steady shot is still 2 seconds. Any insight will be appreciated.

Haste is also great for BM hunters, until their steady shot reaches 1.5 second cast time.
And for BM hunters that requires 0% haste from gear.
For MM/SV hunters it requires about 16% haste from gear.
And for BM hunters that requires 0% haste from gear.

why does the tool tip say 2 sec for my steady? Is this an error on the tooltip.
I assume the reason for BM not needing the haste on their steady shot is due to the talent Serpents Swiftness (which I have)

Since when do people check the tooltip? use Quartz or something like that 
Anyways, it's because of SS yeah.
SS= 20% haste, Quiver = 15% haste
1.20 x 1.15 = 1.38
So 38% haste, to get 1.5 sec steadies you need 33.34% haste.
and 1.3334 / 1.15 = 1.1594....
So 15.94% haste from gear to get to the soft haste cap for non BM hunters.
With 1% haste requiring 32.79 haste rating (from WoWwiki).
So 15.94 x 32.79 = 522.6726 haste rating. or rounded up 523 haste rating on gear.
edit: to put it into perspective, 523 haste rating looks like an immense amount, but it can be reached with some trouble pre-raid.
The trouble mostly because I've only seen 1 piece that has both hit and haste, so outside on that one (unique-equipped) ring with 43 haste and some +hit you'll have to juggle with those stats.

thanks man, I haven't put quartz back on since I "tried" to leave wow for war(and came running back), even uninstalled.
