What do you guys think about leaving out some points in frost to get TTW? As I understand the 12% extra damage of TTW procs on targets that are chilled which is any targe that has been hit with a frostbolt. In addition adding that 12% to a shatter crit seems like it would be worthwhile.

Really interesting build there. The 12% can be pretty nice, although missing out on some nice frost talents (that you will of course be able to pick up as you level)

I would have probably picked up ice floes > cold as ice, and may be able to drop the points (or at least one) out of imp WE to get more permafrost, brain freeze, or shatter barrier. Then of course getting chilled to the bone will be excellent as well rounding out around 80.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but TTW says 12% more damage to snared targets. Doesn’t snared mean frozen not just chilled? But Chilled to the Bone gives up to 5% damage to any target and slows them down even more. I would think that would give you as much if not higher dps and increase your survivability while leveling. It may just be me but I don’t like the idea of having to rely on crits to kill things. They are great when they happen but I like to know the base damage could bring it down without crits if needed. Plus you are missing Elemental Precision which will allow for less resistance against mods. Less resists means faster kill. It is a nice build and I could defiantly see it working at level 80 with the extra ten points. I might even give it a try myself when i hit 80. :)

Anobix will know for sure, but I believe that being chilled, like the arcane slow talent counts as snared. TTW definetly works with the "slow" slow doesn't actually stop the person from moving it just slows them down like the chill effect with frostbolts.

I'm not to worried about elemental precision. I won't really need that when I start leveling. I can add points into it as I level up.

A snare is something that slows movement speed. A root is something that stops it altogether. Daze also slows movement speed(Blastwave), but I'm not sure if it counts as a snare.

I'm actually going to give this a go .. thanks .. the only real thing I see that's it's missing is the extra slow from Chilled to the Bone ... but that's only a bonus when the new talent set, and the slow that we had before was just fine. Likewise, Imp WE is great as a bonus, but while leveling, the Standard WE does just fine.

Added to that, as I level up, my next 10 points will actually feel like they doing something, not just adding fluff in order to get to a nice talent midway through another tree, which would be the case if I went 61 points in Frost immediately.

Thanks .. it's always great to get this new perspective (gah, another 50g out the window)
