I'm trying to figure out if it's a bug (that's annoying the pure heel out of me)or if I need to spend the talent points in a dash/dive skill....

But every time I send my chimera in for an attack, it "stutters." Basically, moves 5 yards, then stops, moves 5 yards, stops... etc. until it gets in range to cast frostbreath.

Is that normal or should I try a new chimera? I couldn't deal with it after a trial run with him, so I stabled his jerky a$$ and went back to my beloved monkey :)

I've not tried a chimaera yet, but that sounds like the same bug wind serpents suffer (suffered?) from.

Take it off autocast and add it into a steady shot macro. :)

It happens with all Chimaeras. You've essentially got 2 choices to get rid of it.

Either do as Ieatrocks suggests, although that adds a different anoyance in that you cast Steady Shot more than once every 7 seconds, so while Froststorm Breath is on cooldown, you get the red 'Spell is not ready' error text. You can add a script command to reduce this to one line, but as far as I'm aware, there's no way to remove it completely.

Or you can just run in closer to your target so that you're in range of Froststorm Breath when you send in your pet. FSB does have a pretty good range on it anyway.

Either of those 2 workarounds still leave you with a slight annoyance, but I'm hoping Blizzard fix the problem sooner rather than later anyway. I'm sure they're aware of it.

This happens with nearly all the new ranged pet skills, it sucks, I was hoping it would go in 3.03 but no dice.

Yeah, i had this same problem with my chimera, it was plenty annoying...

Now I just send in my pet and manually trigger frostbreath once the pet is within range, this seems to have solved the problem for me at least.
