How are you leveling to 80Follow

#1 Nov 10 2008 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
With time running down, i havnt decided how im gonna level in the expansion. Im leaning towards arms, but im just not sure that will be the fastest way to burn through quests. I havnt messed around with TG yet, but it looks very interesting.

So how are you guys leveling?

Also, i was thinking it may be better to re-enchant my stormherald with savagry, instead of the executioner i have now. My thinking is that i dont expect mobs to hang around long enough for me to get the most of executioner. Thoughts?

I'll be leveling as prot. Since it kills relatively quickly and has next to no downtime. Not to mention easier getting groups for instances.

we have dual spec now. you can just click a button and your prot to run an instance. Im a prot warrior too, but prot dps doesnt compare to arms/fury.

You would be surprised at the burst prot has if your geared for it. As arms I normally take down 7k hp mobs in around 5-6 seconds average. Fury is about the same (got to love WW dmg modifiers). As prot I do it in 8 or 9 seconds but here's the kicker. As prot I take 0 to maybe 250 dmg if that. The point is 0 down time as prot.

Also with the new prot I bet you could do elite group quest mobs solo. Hell I went and solo'd the fel reaver yesterday for ***** and giggles.

When dual spec comes out though I will be prot/arms.

The fastest way to level ?

Your going to miss all the fun m8:))
Stay at what y are already. In this way you ll do it the right way.You ll do it also faster cause your 70 Uber gear will help. If y change all that good quality gear y hadat 70 loses its value. The quests from 60 to 70 gave good blue items even for 70 lvl players ,same aplies for 70 to 80. If y make wrong choises and later at 80 respec these items will be worthless as well. And probably you ll have to pay with gold=time to aquire good gear for your new spec.

Stay at what y enjoy playing :))

i'd have to agree with Jimpadan with this one... i was amazed at the reduced downtime and increased damage we can do in prot...

shield and board all the way...

I am definitely sticking with Prot. I leveled as Arms 1-70, but switched to Prot just a few weeks ago. The changes that they made to the spec are just too good to pass up in my opinion. Not only will leveling as Prot be easier than before, but you are also set to Tank for the new instances.

a second reason why i'm leveling prot...

i used to be a frantic keyboard smashing nut...
with CD's and all, smart and effective execution of action bar would be...

"click, click, click, click..." not that i click with mouse, rather the keystroke sounds...

but my old way of gaming was...
"ccccccllclclclcclliccciicccckkkckcccllclcicckck"

yea, my keyboards did not last long... especially on a lappy...

so while lvling in prot... i'll get more familiar wiht my action bar, click in a more timely manner...

and hopefully, i wont have to see a doc about carpal tunnel...

I used to do that too, but now i have one button macros, that i just hold down (autohotkey)still have to click everyonce in a while, but my my wrists dont hurt from pounding keys. My main used to be my hunter, and spamming that damn macro for 4 hours a nite took its toll. I dont think i could live without AHK now.

So anyone have any thoughts on the enchant question? With TG, and savagry on both, that would add quite a bit of ap. Im not worried too much about down time, just the fastest way to tear through stuff. My "DPS" gear is my arena stuff, so the resil may help a little, and i still have my hyj/bt tanking gear to throw on if needed. I may be wrong, but alot of Block would make my prot damage pretty good, however, i got rid of alot of my bv gear as i progressed, so its lower then i would like to level with, im also gemmed pure stam :( Im sure questing with 20k hp would be sweet, but i think id rather have the 3k ap hehe.

I've always wanted to dual-wield shields, no matter how goofy it'd be.

Have been switching back and forth between arms and prot. But I am demented enough to use something like a two handed axe with a shield for normal questing when specced arms. That option to dual wield two handed weapons is awesome.

By killing shit by the scores, bathing in their blood and eating their flesh for their power. How else would a Warrior level? Collect ten rat tails? F'k that.

I hope all healers and tanks don't go DPS, it will make trying to get a instance grop going near impossible.

I wouldn't mind. I have a healer tank and dps. Also have friends with healers. I'm all set for whatever happens. Smiley: grin

almsot all Druids have gone boomkin, all pallies have gone retardin, and shamans have gone enh, the only class iv seen stay healer is a priest, but most of them were disc anyways.

I plan to level for a bit as TG jsut to get through a few Quests then go back to prot.

that's what alts are for.

i'm gonna try to stick to tanking elite quests and dungeons, and whenever i can't get a good group i'll switch to my rogue.

I'm Arms, I've tanked UK, Nexus and Azjol many times without problems. I'm also able to dish out killer DPS through Imp. Slam and Bladestorm/Sweeping Strikes (I sometimes DPS guildruns).

With Unrelenting Assault, there's no need at all to spec prot for instances. Spec prot if you like the playstyle, anything else is just bad excuses :P
