So, just running some old school stuff and we came up to The Beast
I throw beast lore on him, just to check and OMFG he is tameable. So I abandon my corehound and to give it a shot. Only tried once, but I have zero idea how anyone would be able to pull this off. So I throw it out to you all. If you are bored and want a challenge, go for the beast.
I assume some aspect of the monkey, deterrence and a bunch of luck. Anyway, just throwing it out there for anyone that wants some fun.

I'd been wondering about him. :)
When you tried to tame him, did it tell you your level wasn't high enough, or is it just that he hit you far too hard?

no messages about his level too high. I was actually channeling the tame beast spell. I pulled him with concussive shot, threw down a freezing trap just in case but he was immune to that as expected. He just kept punting me on first down.
I read on thottbot one person said he used a haste potion, but I didn't think that would make you able to tame faster.
In the end, he is a corehound and they seem pretty blah at this point in terms of DPS but it'd still be cool to be showing him off.
(as a side note, you can get your leroy jenkins achievement ont he way to him.)

Perhaps if you've got your back firmly against a wall you won't get punted nor interrupted? I think I'll try this guy.

haste potion increases your spellcasting, thus reducing the time it takes for tame pet to channel.
A pocket healer will work too ofcourse and wearing pvp/high stam gear doesnt hurt either.
Aspect of the monkey doesnt by the way, because you cant dodge or parry while channeling a spell.
