The only Pve I will be doing is for questing and dungeons. I lOVE pvp. Im a level 10 right now, ive never played a shaman. I dont even know where to begin to start building this guy. Im thinking I want to be an enhancement for the dps. Is this the best choice for a pvp shammy or should i go with something else?...

Enhancement is a fine way to level and amongst most shaman is the preferred way to level as it is less mana intensive and generally is easier to find gear while grinding up in levels.

Agreed... I leveled my second shaman as elemental and had a tough time finding good elemental gear.

According to popular opinion, enhc shaman is great for PVE dps and ... not so good for PVP. Let me just throw in a disclaimer and say that things may change in the future with a patch, but keep your fingers crossed.

You forgot the other disclaimer where you mention that Elemental is also not so great for DPS in PvP, at least not at 70. That may change on the way to 80 once they get Lava Burst (finally another nuke to cast to compensate for getting locked out of nature spells), but right now they are supremely easy to lock down, as they always have been, which generally results in their losing most small-scale encounters.

As far as Resto is concerned, they had a place, however limited it was, in PvP in TBC due to their ability to give Arms Warriors and Ret Pallies Windfury Weapon, but... with that gone, one has to wonder if anyone will be taking them into the arena at 80. Unless their survivability, utility, and most importantly, team healing ability surpasses the other three healers (which would honestly surprise the hell out of me), the future is looking grim.

If all you want to do in this game is PvP, well, not sure about the wisdom of playing shaman. A caveat -- they're great in BGs, loads of fun, and a wonderful class. But in any sort of small-scale setting -- arena, duels, 1 v 1 world encounters -- they are pretty bad.

From my brief PvP experience post-patch I'd say enhance is probably the best right now since its 51-point talent can amount to an i-win button against clothies. But I wouldn't want to spend my entire WoW PvP career just on a shaman.....At least, not on a shaman at lvl 70 and beyond. (Enhancers pwn before resilience.)

All I am going to say is that spirit wolves are broken. :-)

I still think the wolves would be fine if you could just kill the damn things. Maybe we will be able to at 80, but right now you just can't.
