Rogue checkFollow

Hey guys. Can you do me a favor and check my friends spec. She's in outlands now but seems to be dieing alot. I watch her fight and she doesn't seem to be doing the damage I know a rogue can do. Here is her link:

If I specced her wrong. Please feel free to slap me. I've already told her that she will replace most of her gear in outlands. Thanks to all those whom reply.

gear is decent, in fact its probably better than when i levelled my rogue at that point.
if she just went to outlands, the gear and itemization changes drastically, and its much harder those first 2 levels until you get better gear. seriously she should stay in regular lands (lol) until 59. theres only a few classes that are really outlands ready at 58 in my opinion.

combat playes under sustained damage, and killing enemies faster than they kill you. when you first get to outlands its assumed you have like double the hp you have from pre-outlands, so you get hit a lot harder. if you add in a link or aggro an extra mob your screwed.

talent wise, the only thing i would have done different is take the weapon expertise points and put them into blade twisting, and taken improved SnD. but thats my personal choice. its just the fact that she's low for outlands

Apart from the Ruby glasses and perhaps 2 talent points in Blade Twisting... looks fine. 58 can be difficult in Outland but just tell your friend to be careful, pull strategically, 1 at a time when you can, and the levels will equalize quickly.

Also be sure to open with Cheap Shot and use Kidney Shot when a few combo points are available. So many rogues try to out-damage quest mobs when it's far more efficient to stun-lock them to death.

Good luck!

Yeah, taking WEx over BT is a misspec.

You're doing alright, though. I leveled through Outland with T2, so I can't really say how hard/easy it's gonna be for you with the gear you have. Smiley: frown

If she runs across one, she should replace her OH for a faster weapon. Anything about 2.0 speed is slow for an OH.

A couple of questions, does she use SnD? Does she PVP?

Honestly, imo, Improved Sprint isn't worth it in PVE. I'd probably take Imp SnD or Lightning Reflexes over it. That's just my opinion. I haven't really played my rogue much lately (due to everyone always needing me to heal).

Attack power seems really low. I leveled my lock lvl for lvl with a buddies rogue and think he had around 900 ap at 60. He leveled shs though, which has the increased 10% ap, so, meh. And had all the mats for my rogue to EC his gear for him. Let your friend know that assault to gloves and bracers are cheap (think it's just Arcane Dust).

If your friend hasn't already got it (Armory can be slow to update), tell her to do this quest ASAP:

The Path of Anguish

It's one of the first quests available from Honor Hold, definitely soloable at 58, and one of the rewards is Foe Reaver, which is a big upgrade over the weapons that are showing in the Armory right now.

Yeah she currently has the foe reaver. Here is her new specc. If there is a better spec. Please correct it. She is a pve rogue. Yes she does use slice and dice. After I told her how much it will save her butt. lol. My rogue uses it all the time. SS,SS Evis. If still alive SS,SnD.

This is strictly for soloing. She doesn't run instances..at all. She has fallen in love with rogue. So I told her I'd help her out. Who better to turn to for help then you all. So if you know of a better level 60 spec. Please post it.

Take two points out of Imp SnD and put them in Riposte. There's no reason to have Imp SnD when you're leveling; only pick it up when you're going to run instances at 70.

I guess I will piggy back on this thread since I was going to ask a similar question.

My rogue:

Spronny

I noticed that I have the wrong goggles on but I will be creating the Deathblow X11 Goggles anyhow so I guess it doesn't matter. Had some "of the bandit" goggles.

For leveling I'd go with this;

Killing spree is awesome especially when you pop blade flurry.

Drop imp kick. It's okay for caster mobs but I've found a normal kick does the job just fine. If not there's still kidney shot. You'd get more by putting the points somewhere else.

I'd also lose imp sprint and put it in endurance. For pve you don't use imp sprint much anyways.

You need to cap vitality, combat potency, and prey on the weak. Pick up relentless strikes over malice. By 65 you should have it capped 5/5.

MentalFrog's build is very solid.

I'd definitely agree that you want to pick up Riposte for leveling. While it's not useful in a raiding build (as you shouldn't be getting attacked, so you won't be parrying), it's a great talent for leveling and grinding. 10 Energy for 150% weapon damage is great efficiency, especially if you've got a nice hard-hitting MH sword.
