Aldors.

Shoulder Enchant is all that matters.

Don't even know if that will matter come xpac.

Aldor wins for hunters. In addition to that shoulder enchantment, the SSO necklace proc fro Aldor is an AP boost. For Scryers its a crit boost. AP is better.

However you'll also want to consider your trade skill before deciding. That can affect your choice also. See the comparison page below.

Scryers isn't a crit boost anymore. I don't think that lasted very long, since it scaled so much better than the AP boost from Aldor. Now, the scryer's necklace does instant damage with a 40 second internal cooldown. According to the math, they both give about a 9 DPS increase, but many people swear by the Aldor necklace.

But the Aldor shoulder enchants are quite a bit better until T6 content, when they start to even out. If you're just now starting the rep grind, don't put too much time or money into it. The expansion comes out in less than two weeks, and the enchants will be either obsolete, or too expensive to put on every new pair of shoulders you get until level 80.

Except if you have about 20-30 Holy Dust sitting in your bank collecting.... dust. Then you are more than willing to enchant every shoulder item that drops lol.

I'd argue that getting Exalted matters more than which faction you go with--and with Scryer rep being so much easier to raise quickly, and the expac only a couple weeks away, it might be a good idea to go Scryer and hit Exalted as quickly as you can. Aldor might be better, but it won't matter too much in a month or so once you have started getting rep with the shoulder enchant faction for WotLK (can't remember right now which one that is). Scryer rep would be useful now.

how will the scryer or aldor rep be used in the expansion? I figured it would bascially become similar to the AD rep now...in other words, useless.

There will be new shoulder enchants, it's quite pointless choosing now.

So pick wichever one you like best flavour wise and dont spend money on it :P
