Story's on the main page. Taken from the O-Boards:

Quote:
The coefficients of these spells (Corruption and Immolate) were hotfixed last Thursday I believe.

Corruption's coefficient went from 0.156 to 0.20.
Immolate's coefficient went from 0.13 to 0.20.

This ends up being a reasonably significant dps buff to all 3 specs. In our preliminary testing, Demonology may have benefited the most.

Please recognize the changes these numbers will have on your class when making subsequent posts.

Very greatful for this.
But where's my survivability?

Most locks have great survivability just as they come. Are you talking about pvp? if so, then even more so. Fear, seduce, gg coil, 3+ spells that return life (depending on gear and spec). The list can go on. If you are having trouble with a lock's survivability it is possible that you are putting points into the wrong stat(s). Do you have an armory link? I could take a peek for you.

the corruption is actually the removal of a nerf put in at the start of tbc as dots were considered OP back then, the new coefficient (1.2 over the entire spell) is what it should be according to the general coefficient formula for dots (duration/15). the immolate one is a nice buff, originally all duel damage/effect spells had split/nerfed coefficients due to their 'special' nature. this change just puts the dot damage at what it should be if you ignore the direct damage part :)

and shadow mastery is up by 5% and emberstorm is up by 5% and soul link is also up with 5 %.

dont know how much dps fire destruction will gain through the immolation change.

Is fire and brim worth the points now at 80?

Great changes for both pve and pvp.
Once we gain demonic circle our defense and offense is set i think especially with a haunt/SL kinda build.

depends on when/if they finally fix the problem with ruin affecting conflagorate. if they fix that then the talent will possibly be worth it.. also the talent will scale better at 80 due to the much larger +SP available.

Yea I know,was just being theatrical :p

Anyway,so its about 500 more damage over corr/immo duration now,but at 80,1800-2000sp this damage will increase by fair amount ?

the '500' is based on roughly 1500 +SP, though at 80 I can see 2k SP becoming a norm after a few months of raiding, so we're looking at a 2-2.5k region for endgame (imo.. might be more for all i know) which'll bring the end bonus closer to about 1k damage increase over the entire spell, which for pve is great, but in pvp I doubt we'll see people with more than 1.8k +dmg... also we'll be pvping in like 20+k health... lol
