Disc/holy questionFollow

I have a lv 53 priest discipline specced and just had a question in preperation to doing bg's or arena. When you're in a bg do you usually just stick with a a group and heal or do you try to kill stuff? If I want to heal in pvp should I stick with disc or should I go holy.

For arena, I'm pretty sure that we heal, but still which spec would be better?

I had another small question about holy, can gardian spirit be cast on yourself? I don't think so because te tooltip says that you can cast on friendly target, but am I not considered a friendly target? (I know that sound like a stupid question but I had to ask) The same qestion applies to prenance in the disc tree.

Yeah, you can't cast it on yourself. Which is the source of much QQ on the AJ forums right now because it's kind of ridiculous given that it's a 51 point talent.

As holy or as disc?

As holy, obviously Blessed Resilience... I'm thinking I could actually do pretty well right now in BG's if I had that talent.

As disc... Pain Supression, Focused Will, Focused Power, Imp Mana Burn and Meditation are must-haves. Generally, you'll want pretty much half the disc tree (Divine Aegis, Mental Agility, Imp Inner fire, Reflective Shield, etc), but those 5 are ones you'll need in any primarily disc PvP build.

I would say disc for pvp, though I do pvp as holy, raid spec.. 10-51-0. Healing is mainly what you're there for unless your shadow, but dont count out your ability to kill either.. that's how a lot of priests get ganked by rogues, lol!
