Gear ? - Malorne vs Merciless GladiatorFollow

#1 Nov 01 2008 at 8:07 AM Rating: Decent
Hello all - I am Feral Druid (Bratwurst - on Dethecus) with Merciless Gladiator Gear... I am starting to do more Raids etc and I have the chance to get Malorne Gear ( Harness ). Should I keep both sets or go with one or the other. Different sites seem to be telling me different things on which is better. With the new Talent points I lean more towards DPS than Tank. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

2t4 bonus for feral DPS is pretty much king, almost any gear sacrifice to get 2 pieces of the set is worth it. Once you have 3 pieces of the set, you can decide which piece you can drop.

Just remember that as you level, the 2pcT4 bonus will proc less and less until at level 80 it becomes totally useless to us - I won't miss it, it will be nice to not be leaving far superior gear in the bank because I need to keep that OP bonus.

Sorry for being stupid - but what does 2T4 OP proc less & less etc actually mean?

The Malorne set is Druid Tier 4. All tier sets (and some other things) have a set bonus when you have a few pieces of the set equipped. For Feral Druid T4, the 2 piece set bonus (2t4) is a 10% (?) chance to gain 10 Rage or 20 Energy on every hit. This is a bigger boost to the amount of damage you can do than pretty much any single piece of gear.

As you level past 70, the % chance to get Energy / Rage back (a proc), will decrease, making the set bonus much less valuable so level 80s aren't picking level 70 gear over the new level 80 gear.
