Mine is at 68 right now and I'm really enjoying him. If you could tell by my screen name, primates are special to me, so I'm more than happy to have this pet, along with volley ... which is making AOE quite fun.

My issue is with intercept. It doesn't seem as if this talent ever works. I'm BM, specced 50/11/0 for the point in GFTT.

Anyone know what my problem might be?

It's broken. Respec your pet and put that point into something else for now.

Good to hear that you're having fun with the Gorilla, but if you've had him long enough to appreciate Volley, and it's not level 70, you might be doing it wrong!

It should only take 1.5 hours to get a Gorilla from 65-70 if you're bold with your AoE'ing. Take your Gorilla out to The Heap (directly south of Area52). Put it on Defensive, turn off smack, make sure that growl and Thunderstomp are on autocast. Stay on your mount and round up 6-8 ethereals, dismount, hit volley and profit. The mobs out there spawn extremely fast, and are in tight groups, so it's easy to round up a lot and kill them in 2-3 vollies. It's a lot of fun. I went from 30% revered with the Consortium to 78% in about 2 hours- Granted, I had a really lucky streak with keys, but I had over 250 of their insigias to turn in.

After it hits 70, go back to doing whatever you're enjoying. You'll love it more with a pet at full potential :D

Damn.

Ok, well that solves it. I noticed that it had been auto-switching off (like the cower bug), but even correcting that didn't help.

I'll take your advice. I need Consortium rep so that's an excellent idea. Thanks.

Ok. This was too much fun.

I have to say I got some confused looks from the few people in that area, but this was like slicing through butter. My rep is up and my gorilla is now 70. I can't say I've ever had that much fun leveling a pet before.

^_^ Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! It's amazingly fun to see all the mobs die at the same time.

I have to admit it was only after reading this thread and spotting a few others that i even thought about volley now being a viable playstyle , not yet tried a gorilla but that is coming soon , but a snake trap , send pet to aggro mobs wait a second or two and volley is great fun and seems to do some rather amazing damage , but i bet it gets nerfed as it just seems to easy at the moment , i must try a gorilla tonight.

Gorillas make grinding so much faster, even as MM, it isn't even funny.

I only tamed one on a lark with the extra stable slots. Now, he's by my side for everything but raiding/instancing.

I love my white gorilladin!

He can take on 3-5 mobs easily and combined with volley is devastating!

and he was bugged for a moment - I saw him still with a dragon around his portrait, not scaled and with unchanged name! (You were AFK in LHC several days ago) :)

BTW: I've got black cat (Humar FTW!), my scorpid is as black as possible, so there was no way I'd be getting a WHITE gorilladin :>

Greetings fellow Alonsus patron Smiley: grin

He was definitely worth the 2 days I waited for him (first time he spawned I beat a horde hunter to him so the Horde hunter killed him before the tame went through).

Hey everyone. Need some help if I may ask. Loving my gorilla but he seems to be dieing alot and I pull agro from him when aoe grinding. This is what i've currently got my gorilladin set up as http://www.wowhead.com/?petcalc=0hdu0bMo

I'm a BM specced 50/11 http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aerie+Peak&n=Sulvain
PVE/PVP. Right now I'm just grinding with my gorilla. Maybe some insite on his spec if its wrong. Or do i need to go 51/10/0 for a full on gorilladin?

Souliken, that looks the same as my setup, get him to 68 and you'll have another point to put into Armor.

I'd probably spec a Gorilladin Like this.
Less Lionhearted and armor, more Grace of the Mantis.

I dont care too much about fears and stuns outside of PvP, and the armor doesnt really impress me either.
GotM makes a significant difference in the amount of crits your pet will get and thus the amount of spike damage it gets.
That + blood of the Rhino should make sure that mend pet is sufficient to keep your pet up.

Got it switched. Thanks for the spec check. Gorilla Dan is doing just fine now. Level 69. Any good place to aoe for aldor marks.

All i can say is wow , Gorilladin is correct , waited almost 14 hours over 2 days in that dam cave for my white gorilla to spawn , and it is well worth the wait .

Ages ago i had him for a very short time as i could not stand the wait on the thunder stomp cool down but now he seems so overpowered that i cannot believe he will not be nerfed in the end which will be a real shame.

I hope they are not the new must have pet when people see just how much fun they are.

I was grinding naga for spore rep this weekend and my Gorilla crit two naga for 1600 each with his stomp. I was pretty impressed considering he was just 65. It really hits hard with the charge bonus damage if he times it right. Good tank pet for sure.

Got my gorilla specced like this:
http://www.wowhead.com/?petcalc=0hdh0bM0b

I didn't go cobra because I wanted to pick up spiked collar for the increased thunderstomp damage. I am still deciding if taunt wouldn't be better served in filling out spiked collar, I am using my gorilla to AoE tank and maybe the increased damage would be better than a single target taunt usable every 3 minutes.

EDIT: link not working... I'm trying this

Level 68 Gorilla

Tenacity (13 points)
Charge - Rank 1/1
Your pet charges an enemy, immobilizing the target for 1 sec, and increasing the pet's melee attack power by 25% for its next attack.

Great Stamina - Rank 3/3
Increases your pet's total Stamina by 12%.

Spiked Collar - Rank 2/3
Your pet does an additional 6% damage with all attacks.

Blood of the Rhino - Rank 2/2
Increases your pet's total Stamina by 4% and increases all healing effects on your pet by 40%.

Guard Dog - Rank 2/2
Your pet's Growl generates 20% additional threat and 10% of its total happiness.

Grace of the Mantis - Rank 2/2
Reduces the chance your pet will be critically hit by melee attacks by 4%.

Taunt - Rank 1/1
Your pet taunts the target to attack it for 3 sec.

Pick the color you like from the link below. Look up where they live here on Allakhazam and go get one.

I have also noticed that Thunderstomp has been fixed. For me at least, if my gorilla didnt have more than one thing on him he would not use that skill. Now though he charges, then imediately Thunderstomps no matter what. I love it! it is like 5k threat instantly, helps a lot as I can just go all out on trash and it is dead before i catch his threat.

Or you can use 1 website with 3D models and all the information you need to compare pet families on one page.

Wowhead - Pets! Once you find which type you want, click on it to view the gallery, comments from other people (usually information on rare skins or their experiences using the pets) and list of which ones are tamable/where they are.

If this feature on wowhead gets spread around, it's seriously the end of Petopia. It's just so much easier to use.
