I've done a bit of looking around and I can't seem to find any information on the new hit cap for elemental shaman.

I know it used to be small as hell, but since so many talents that buffed our hit% have been changed around (for more crit I believe) could anyone tell me what the new hit cap is for lvl 70? Perhaps we could also get a few numbers for the new hit cap at lvl 80 as well?

I know that whatever it is I should probably subtract about 1% worth of hit rating since I'm a Draenei.

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

164 for Draenei. (assuming no raid buffs) Shadow Priests and Boomkins lower the hit % by 3%. So, I think that makes it 126.

Basically, 17% is cap. They removed the 1% miss that was ALWAYS present no matter how much +hit you had, therefore you can no achieve NO misses.

17% base
-3% talent
-1% racial
-3% raid buff

10% hit is left to overcome. 12.6 hit for 1% means 126 hit rating. You can do the math for any other variations you can come up with. :P

Fantastic, thanks a ton, you've been a great help.

Rate up for ya.

Now assuming that 17% will still apply in Wrath of the Lich King, Has anyone figured how much hit rating will be needed to reach the cap in wrath?

The 17% remains the same HOWEVER, the amount of +hit rating for 1% hit increases.

Rating needed to gain +1% hit:
At level 70: 12.62
At level 80: 26.23

Source: Dwarf Priest

It's the same for all casters so, to reach the same 10% hit, you'd need 262 spell hit at 80.

Thanks again, you've been a great help.

I finally hit 70 on my shaman and I've got a grand total of 48 hit rating, hehe, Kara should be interesting tonight.
