How to kill huntersFollow

I've been doing more arena lately, and have realized that I am getting absolutely killed by hunters almost every time.

Seeing as how there isn't already a thread in here about this - I figured, maybe this was something I'm doing wrong.

So do you have trouble with hunters? And how do you handle?
Thanks!

Lets see, Just started playin WoW again 2 days ago, so I'm still getting used to the game again haha. Hunters werent really a problem, unless they had that "red" stuff on them...What I would do is sheep their pet, and use whatever "main" or insta spells I had on the hunter...when sheep broke id Frost Nova them both and keep nailing on the hunter...and this was in 1vs1 usually in BG or world pvp...so it worked fine for the most part, dont know how things have changed lately =P

Ice Block on Viper Sting and hope that the hunter will change targets so you can get an opener.

Since the patch I went Arcane/frost (mostly arcane). I don't usually have problems with hunters anymore unless they are fully geared with like 14k hp or something (I am s2/kara/rep epics geared). I found the key is to get close to them. They can't do much DPS if they can't use there ranged item.

Yea since patch hunters are not a problem.. Just now Warriors and Paladins are a problem. Luckily the Paladins are getting a much needed nerf. Warriors duel wielding 2h weapons though don't help.

Lolz!! Joke I hope. Why would you iceblock a viper sting? Sure you lose some mana, but it shouldnt take you a full mana bar to kill a hunter. You want to iceblock his beastial wrath (big red kitty) if he's bm. If he is MM or survival, iceblock if he's got you snared/trapped/slept, and you see him pop rapid fire. Pets have no resilience, so if you can burst it down fast, do that. Hunters loses alot of dps and that less pushback on you if pet is killed. Sheep the hunter and kill the pet first.

Otherwise, try to stay in melee range and use your quick cast. His melee abilities won't hurt as much as him pumping you full of arrows. Slow him if you are arcane, and try to get shatters if you are frost. As fire use your instants and scorches. If you get a hot streak proc, it should be GG at that point.

Hunter pvp has been severely nerfed since the patch. Mages use to be dogmeat before 3.0 for hunters, now it takes alot more effort on the hunters' part to win.

Run up to him, cast slow, arcane barrage, fireblast, blink on top of him, arcane barrage, acrane barrage........ ap/pom/fireball if you wanna waste it on a hunter.

If your PVPing on your mage and your not deep arcane right now... then you need to respec.
