So my feral druid in bear form has 65% physical mitigation. Add in the 12% from talents in a full party and that takes me over the 75% max(assumption: 75% is the max). Would it be better to set aside my Badge of Tenacity for a second stamina trinket or how does the armor mitigation/talent work?

Protector of the Pack reduces damage after reduction from armor. 12% of the 35% damage you take after armor means you're reducing physical damage by 69.2% so you should probably keep the badge.

Although I'm just guessing at the next part, I would imagine Protector of the Pack would still work if you managed to reach the armor cap, but I haven't seen any testing on this.

Unless the badge takes you over the armor cap (regardless of PotP) then you should use it. If you are armor capped (75% reduction), PotP will give you 12% of the remaining 25% of damage (another 3%) so you would end up with 78% damage reduction.

All this is of course for physical damage, not magic damage.

Armor Cap & PotP will give you the 78% damage reduction for physical damage and 12% reduction for magical damage.

PotP is nice for physical damage, but really shines for magic damage.
