I have a lvl 46 Druid and plan to level up in Boom form. I like playing as a caster, and Boom has much better armor than just cloth wearers.

My question is this: Will I still have a large armor advantage in this for. With the reduction of armor and defence on leather gear? I know they lowered this for feral, but they are able to spec to make up for this.

I know compared to cloth wearers I will have an advantage. I just want to know what the more experienced players think, or will I be wearing mostly cloth armor for the proper stats? Which mean that I should not worry about the change in leather armor at my current level.

armor doesn't play a big part in leveling a boomkin.. while i was leveling mobs would rarely get a chance to touch me thanks to roots.

Thank you for the imput. I respected Boomkin and bought gears with the best stats and did not pay attention to armor.

I also bought a glyph of roots and find that you were correct. I cast, than root and continue to cast and find that the mobs die real fast. If they do break free from roots before they die I just rinse and repeat.

I can now say that I believe I will be Boomkin for life. I just find it more fun than healing and tanking.
