My hunter: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sen%27jin&n=Izsera

I've been checking myself on be.imba.hu pretty religiously for the past few weeks, since it seemed like a good starting point--it finally says my character is in top shape, which is a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

So now I'm to the point where the input of actual people would be helpful. =)

Any comments or advice on my gear would be appreciated, and I do have a couple specific questions as well.

Should I go pick up the shattered sun necklace? I just hit Exalted with Aldor last night, so it would be decent now, I'm just not sure if the proc is worth losing 3 agility and a fair amount of stamina.

Would subtlety to cloak be better for me than agility? I don't pull often, unless I'm using volley and I generally feign in time, but I'm more and more starting to run heroics with tanks who have trouble keeping threat (being slightly undergeared) so it is a worry.

What ranged weapon would be the next step up for me? I refuse to buy the peacock on a stick (I prefer guns, and it looks ridiculous), and every time we've had a ranged weapon drop in a raid (like the arcanite steam pistol in TK) the raid leader has told me that I shouldn't roll because the stats on Tuskbreaker are better for me, even if the DPS is lower.

Be.imba is terrible. Just never visit again. You're gear is good except for the stam gem in the pants since you don't have a Meta to worry about just go straight agi while keeping yourself hit capped.

ZA has been good to you ehh?

I would say that the neck you have and the SSO neck are comparable. Pick it up and see if anything changes for your dps. For your cloak, i would stick with AGI. If tanks cant hold threat after the patch then run with different tanks. A raid situation with your own guild tanks, threat shouldn't be a problem.

As for your weapon. Since you refuse to do what is best for you...... The steam pistol has a little better dps and some AGI/Hit rating. Meaning you could lose some of your HR gems and go with more AGI/AP.

Overall you should be very satisfied with your gear. Your spec is great for your gear level. I really see no problems, you are doing everythign right from what i can see.

*edit* Sorry, comp i am on is very slow so it would tank an hour to pull up your armory again. You do have the head enchant right? Also, have you thought about the vengeful helm? If i could look up gear in a timely fashion i would do it for you. It is somehting to think about. It also has Hitrating built into it, which is always nice.

"Be.imba is terrible. Just never visit again"

I had to check, with a review like that.

As armory seems to be crocked again, I haven't been able to use be.imba.

What's wrong with it?

It looks like a great idea.

What do you reckon to dps max? It has yet to update, but I thought that was quite good - though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Is there ANY site similar to the above, that anyone reckons is half decent?

I am not sure what to make of the armory's own ratings.

The problem with be.imba is that is evaluates your gear and your score by looking at the item level.
There was a time where I could get a better score by switching some of me pvp gear in for some pve items.

be.imba can give you a short overview but it is not as good as knowing stuff about your class.
There is no tool available that replaces your brain, but if you use be.imba and keep in mind that it has weaknesses, then it is fine for a quick overview.

1: as said, be.imba is brainless.
Use cheeky's if you want to have something to check your progress.

2: using cheeky's also rids us of these stupid threads.
Especially this close to the xpac, there's no point at all in check my gear threads.
It's all going to be useless in 3 weeks when we'll be racing towards lvl 80.

3: agility is always better, you have a 30 sec cooldown threat reset.

4: use cheeky's to determine wich weapon is best for you and use it. (a.k.a. the chicken)

Seriously, I might be an *** here but you could have figured all of this out by yourself without much trouble at all.
And if you are serious about raiding/whatever, use the best gear you can get and ignore looks during raids.
You're intentionally gimping yourself and your raid because you dont like not looking great at all times... sorry but that's just sad.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was using be.imba mainly to keep track of what I had enchanted, what still needed gems, what I'd filled up with a bunch of green crap gems weeks ago, etc. Given that I don't generally pug raids, its whole "this is where you should be raiding right now" thing doesn't mean a whole lot. And, given my distinct lack of pvp gear or any interest therein, I don't see that it matters much at all.

I have tried downloading Cheeky's but my computer refuses to read it properly, no matter where I get it from--I probably don't have the right program, but I honestly have no idea what that would be. It's some kind of spreadsheet, my computer has a spreadsheet program, they just don't seem to be compatible.

Besides the looks, the peacock on a stick would require me to grind out another hundred badges, and all the mats for a new scope. My last scope took me about a month to save for, and I'm not sure but I think Tuskbreaker scoped probably does just about as much for my DPS as the crossbow unscoped. It's something I'll get to experiment with in a few weeks, if they stop putting me in the failkara group to double their DPS (for some reason, everyone who wants to go gets to, even rogues with ~200 DPS, whee), and the mats for the stabilized eternium scope drop in price a bit more. Until then, though, I was hoping there might be something a bit better that I could hope for while I gather the scope mats--or is the crossbow simply the best in the game?

And yes, I tend to be a bit vain with my characters--there aren't many items I'll refuse to equip, but there are a few, just as I refuse to play a draenei, despite the racials. Extra hit chance and a free heal are nice, but I don't see it as being worth having to stare at a big, blue, alliance-flavored space tauren for 70 levels and a bit.
