ok... Level 62 Hunter.

I have tried to group as much as possible in the lifespan of this toon but you all probably realize thats easier than it sounds playing that role.

I find myself at a loss as to where to progress now. I am trying to max my gathering professions and level my way to 70 but it just feels like there is sooooo much I've missed. Where should a guy like me attempt to get back into the groove? I'd love to see end game content either old world or BC stuff but feel I may be undergeared. Can someone take a peek at my hunter and tell me what the hell I shold be doing or if I should change my main to my 36 priest and start semi fresh with her?

What I am really asking is if there is any hope what so ever for me lol...

When I tried to check the armory it was of course down, so this advice should be taken just at face value. As far as getting into the groove of things, you're more likely to start getting more invites from groups if you're good with your traps; and that doesn't mean you have to be SV spec'd, just know how to trap and hold onto mobs. As far as gear goes, don't worry to much about getting that perfect piece of gear, just take what comes from quests and instances and remember never never never take anything with +strength on it.

As far as end game stuff goes, I think that you've still got quite a ways to go, since you're only 62. Now if you're extremely talented or have just an insane amount of time to play and level your character you might be able to make it to 70 and get some decent blues from the lvl 70 dungeons to make it viable for you to run a few heroics or get in on a kara run, but for the most part, I'd just keep on doing what you're doing and not worry about raiding since in less than a month kara and pretty much most outland raids will become a lot more quiet since everyone will either be running to lvl to 80 or working on their new death knight only guilds.

Plus the nice thing about being a hunter is that you can solo most quests that call for 2-3 players depending on your gear and overall talent as a player. I'll try and post something better when the armory comes back up

You can level as any spec of hunter, but you might find it most easy to do it as a BM (Beast Master, the furthest left talent tree) hunter, as that will strengthen your pet and they are vital for levelling.

I went up to level 70 with a bear, before I took a cat, but there are many choices. If you want to clearly learn about pet options, check out Petopia: HERE

If you want to see what folk are discussing as far as lv 70 builds, you can check out the WotLK Builds thread: HERE

You really don't need to be thinking that far ahead, and perhaps ought not to, but builds in that thread can act as talent point placement suggestions.

As trollover has said, a hunter can do things more easily than some other classes.

When you hit lv 70 and want to be a bit more than reasonable, that's when talent points become more of an issue. For now, just throw the majority of your talent points into the BM talent tree (furthest left), and perhaps some in the other two trees as you see fit or as you may have seen in someone's build.

What is important to note is that you don't need to go out of your way to purchase or obtain "must have" items, at this stage. If you read what any of the speed-levellers have to say on how they level, they are almost always handling their gear in the same way - taking what they find and saving their cash for when they hit lv 70.

Stat-wise, attack power and agility are good for levellers and a bit of stamina never hurts - as you may not be quite sure how to handle your new-found talents.

How and where? Check out the free advice at wow-pro.com: HERE

A contributor, perhaps "the" contributor, on that site - Jame - has some good advice for you, but I am sure that you'll hit that site and soon find what you need.

So forge ahead. You have picked a great class, to level with especially, but there is no set path that you must follow.
