A rogue class is based on a ninja, egro; hides, sneaks about and assasinates (instagibs) people.
Ninjas kept powder to throw in the face of an assailiant (Blind), they could also run off/disapear when things got heavy (Vanish) also ninjas took people out non fataly (sap). Ninjas used poison (poisons)
Ninjas also stole things (ninjalooter) and moaned a lot when things were not going their way and samurais spanked them (QQ).
However ninjas never used maces.......ever. Knives/daggers yes, swords yes, shuriken/shaken/throwing knives yes even fist weapons. Maces NO.
Therefore maces should not be available to rogues and whenever I see a mace rogue I laugh at him.
A rogue has nothing to do with ninjas.
Research feudal Japan if you think being a rogue has anything at all to do with being a ninja.
The most ironic part is that even if we are meant to be ninjas, they usually used one or two short swords, not daggers. They were even known to use flails/morning stars from time to time, but not daggers.
Ninjas were actually used by feudal Japanese lords for assassinations, but most were samurai as well.
Now, if you're referring to rogues being thieves, you'd be correct. Usually rogues in the past were thieves, assassins, etc, though they were mainly concentrated in Eurasia, not Japan.
