Uncalled for, as pre-patch your weapons really made no difference in PvP, and if this is in regards to PvE in could be access to weapons, now maces are not as horrendous as they once were and if you have ZA swords and the Siphon of Naztherium mace I would imagine the mace is better but eh, idk don't wanna check a spreadsheet.

Maces are still fine in PvP.

I think that we can only use 1 mace in wotlk.

Rogues should not be able to use maces really as it is not a rogue weapon, even the trainer says something like 'Oh god another noob who wants to spongestun people in pvp, get over it and grow some balls wimp' or words to that effect.

A rogue should only be able to use daggers and swords to keep it as a rogue class.

I dual wield mace spray and call myself a rogue, and the stun proc is awesome!

Nah, it's fine as is. I absolutely hate swords since we're rogues, not ninjas/pirates (or a combination of the two)

Wait a minute, I just found a personal in-game RP excuse for a sword-rogue. Pirates. God, why didn't I think of this earlier. Never mind what I said up there, thanks for letting me see this light... This simplifies matters a lot.

A rogue class is based on a ninja, egro; hides, sneaks about and assasinates (instagibs) people.

Ninjas kept powder to throw in the face of an assailiant (Blind), they could also run off/disapear when things got heavy (Vanish) also ninjas took people out non fataly (sap). Ninjas used poison (poisons)

Ninjas also stole things (ninjalooter) and moaned a lot when things were not going their way and samurais spanked them (QQ).

However ninjas never used maces.......ever. Knives/daggers yes, swords yes, shuriken/shaken/throwing knives yes even fist weapons. Maces NO.

Therefore maces should not be available to rogues and whenever I see a mace rogue I laugh at him.

A rogue has nothing to do with ninjas.

Research feudal Japan if you think being a rogue has anything at all to do with being a ninja.

The most ironic part is that even if we are meant to be ninjas, they usually used one or two short swords, not daggers. They were even known to use flails/morning stars from time to time, but not daggers.

Ninjas were actually used by feudal Japanese lords for assassinations, but most were samurai as well.

Now, if you're referring to rogues being thieves, you'd be correct. Usually rogues in the past were thieves, assassins, etc, though they were mainly concentrated in Eurasia, not Japan.

I don't know what people have against maces. The rogue "trainer" in shatt, for example. How is a blunt instrument (which might only cause internal bleeding) more messy than ripping someone to pieces with eviscerate? It makes no sense.

I'd take a really long look at most of the maces floating around, count how many of them are flanged or covered in spikes. Maces don't just thwack someone incredibly hard, they also rip and tear at your target's flesh.

As for the actual argument, and this is just my personal opinion ever since I started playing a rogue, we're meant to kill. Finesse, theatrics, and looking cool aren't quite as important as getting over yourself and killing whomever is required by your quest objectives, contracts, or whatever by any means available (including the use of maces).

Rogues in this game are, simply put, death dealers. Be it with a sword, mace, dagger, or even my wimpy throwing knives.

Some of them do, but lots do not, e.g. S3 & S4 maces do not.
