I have a 70 epicced ret paladin that i plan on getting to 80.
Only question is, what specc at 80?
Either i join the other 75% of paladins and go holy, or go tanking in prot.
Here's my question, which would be better, go holy at 80 and level a warrior tank or go prot at 80 and level a healer?
Which is the better tank at endgame and why? Prot Pally or Prot Warrior?

In TBC, I'd have said Prot Warrior was a "better" tank, meaning you could tank more boss encounters, and Prot Paladin was a better trash/5-man tank (and needed for certain boss fights too).

Blizzard has stated that they want all 4 tanks (Warrior, Paladin, DK, Druid) to be able to main tank all encounters in the expansion. Which class do you prefer?

You don't sound terribly enthusiastic about respeccing from Ret. Why not try out Ret @ 80? Even with Blizzard adjusting Ret's dmg down, you should still be able to deal nice damage, give out a replenishment buff, and generally be a Holy Freight Train.

Even if you want to go healer/tank, Blizzard has talked about dual speccing characters ... you may be able to do both on your paladin.

ive been hearing (not from reliable sources, barrens chat/trade chat) that they scrapped the 2 specc system. Saying that it would 'ruin the point of being one specc'. But who knows. I would love nothing more than to be ret at 80. The only problem is people are uber racist against 80 ret pallies, sayingthey would rather have a arms warr for dps. But who knows, maybe ret would get vamped up to be a respectable dps source in wotlk. Im leveling a tauren warrior tank atm and ill see how that goes over.

I would think you should post this on the Pally forums. I mean, I understand there's pretty much one question regarding warrior tanks, but the gist of your worries require Pally information.

Hiya

Since you re a group lover(You mention prot/healing class)-as I am- and you have a pally and a warr my guess is to put the warrior in protection and the holly to resto. This way you ll increase your chances to form a party :)) ( that is if you have them both leveled up to some point)

Pallys-Druids according to my humble opinion are the best class in the game in terms of gameplay.
Bored being a tank? Swich to DPS. Bored being a DPS? Swich to Resto. The warr has 2 options DPS-Protection

The pallys become healers for a reasson and my believe is this : PLATE

I dont know (hmm...dont care to be accurate) if they throw buffs/spells and all that and honestly dont care. It s so comfy knowing your healer just wont die so easily. Especially if the dps is WArlock ,mage, ... + cloth... then I feel the erge to get a pally healer.

Normally there is no choise in picking a healer: the 1st who wants to be invited is invited cause its kind of difficult to find a healer , but if im to choose I would definitelly pick the pally.(but thats me ,just an opinion not the jenerall warr forum)
