While doing my first kara since the new patch i started to run into some threat problems on the bosses. My omen says i was getting around 2.5k threat per second which is alot more than i have ever gotten before(i guess it might have something to do with vigilance on the next highest threat person) but i was still having trouble holding agro from a rog (with vigilance) and a hunter both in t4-5 gear. before the patch i had no problems. is anyone else experiencing something like this
Well something is wrong here. Either your Omen is lying to you, or something else is going on. There is no way a rogue in T4 gear is generating 2.5k TPS. Rogues have some pretty good innate threat reduction, which would mean that he was doing well over 3K DPS, which is simply not possible at that gear level. If you're putting vigilance on him, then that's even more of a mystery.
I suppose it's possible if he starts DPS immediately and gets a few lucky crits in, but once you get started, everything that I've experienced and read so far has shown that tanks are easily "out-threatting" any DPS who is similarly geared. If your rogue is still somehow managing to pull off of you then you're doing something terribly wrong.

a.Did you changed your gear recently trying to reach 490 defence rating? IF you did that, then you might have left out some items that had expertise/hit rating/strength/SB value
While testing for example what does expertise does in Kara I found that if I left out an item that had +expertise on it to favor my stamina or my defense rating then I saw lots of time the phrase - dodge -dodge -dodge(or was it mis-miss-miss?)---> So eventually I lost aggro.
Maybe thats the answer? try it :))
b.The group composition is the same before and after the patch ?
c.If the group composition is the same did they changed their gear?
d.Is that hunter-rog killing the skull???? (stupid dps-stupid dps)
e.Do you start your fight with a shield slam or ...?
f.Show us your talents plz , you might have made wrong choises in relation to your gear
g.I dont know rog/hunter talents---> their talents are picked to fit a raid group or...?
h.Maybe the hunter/rog are trying their new moves in Kara.If thats the case then they will learn eventually what to use and when.This does not apply though to Bosses because my guess is that there the dps must do max damage
i.when you SS do you remeber what damage is made ? Do you crit with your SS-a lot?
What I would do-( I already did it) is take my super dps friend and tell him to throw hell on a island ( dailys quests) mob while I kept him on me. If the mobs stays on you then your ok.
Normally if You cast a SS then he s glued on you whatever the hunter-rog does...
About OMEN : You people watch it during figts?? I never never see it , I dont have time to see it. I just see the Boss if hes on me or someplace else( usually the boss and me hung out together :P ).. well I might peak.

I was doing heroic MGT the other day with an 8/8 t6 lock from my guild and I held aggro just fine. I have mostly Kara tank gear with the exception of BT Shoulders/Boots and ZA Shoulders/Boots. I still used the good ole sun eater and Aldor exhaulted shield. I haven't been prot in forever thats why the gear is lacking, but either way...if you can't hold aggro, you gotta be doing something wrong. no offense.
Sheild Slams, Revenge, Devastate (the latter two can proc SS rage free!) Also shockwave does some hawt threat too. If you're having trouble holding threat, switch to Battle stance and use Retalliation and swap back to Def stance and go from there. That should help a little bit.
Other than that, make sure you don't have Salvation on. =)

you need to post more info about whats going, what you are fighting, etc.
is it single target?
boss?
any special moves on the boss that could reset aggro?
what are their TPS?
that rogue needs to be at 3521 or more DPS (in theory) to be your 2500 TPS (in theory) which isn't possible, so maybe you're only seeing spike threat.
