What to do for Paladin FunFollow

I am a guild master and run Kara with my guild, but I sure wish it would reset more often so I could try some fun things.

I would be willing to bet post-nerf that you could have just a reasonably geared group consisting of:

1 Prot Paladin
2 Ret Paladins
2 Holy Paladins

and you could probably 5-man the place. I don't even think you would need anything above Kara purples with even a few blues. I know of T6 geared groups that 4-man the place now. If you wanted to make sure you were safe, you could bring another Prot or another Ret and 6-man it.

I would just LOVE to be able to try this and have a Pally-fest in there, but my guild would frown on their leader/main tank skipping a weekly guild run just to mess around in there :)

I would trade in 1 Holy for 1 Ret Paladin. Run it like a normal 5-man. The extra DPS will help fights end quicker. If you need a little extra healing - one of the Ret Paladins can off-heal.

That does sound like fun. Had a group of 3 pallies, 2 prot and 1 ret I think. We were just burning thru some of the lower level outland instances. Me and the other prot pallie where fighting each other for aggro, all in fun since we both could take the beatings :)

I agree with YJM, if you're five-manning it you really need to bring one Holy and more Ret dps. I think there are certain fights that would be difficult, even with a well-geared group. Netherspite comes to mind. The key is to burn them down fast-fast-fast. Netherspite can be very frustrating even with a well-geared group, and Prince is 90% luck.

It would be fun to try though.

Finding three geared Rets might be the hardest part. Rets were so badly shunned for so long that I really don't know that many that are raiding and in T4/5. They really need a chance to catch up now.

PvP rets (decently geared ofc) can do respectable dps. Their sheer AP and crit makes up for the relative lack of +hit.

I think since the patch the gap between PvE and PvP gear has changed somewhat to make it harder to use pvp for raiding. The loss of precision (3% to melee hit) alone is quite a big blow for Rets that want to raid in straight PvP gear.

As a prot pally I tanked attumen and moroes+adds at the same time, it was entertaining. My paladin is my 4th 70 so his gear isn't too great, 2 pc t6 and a smattering of badge loot, but the healers where good.

Well I figured I would respec and give this a try tonight. Needing a coffee is not a lie. Almost had him....was on third round, after killing all the pumpkins he called in I just simply ran out of mana and then death immediately followed. Not bad considering my gear is all pre heroic and I am not uncritable (450 def).

Wonder if there was a way to avoid the pumpkins.....if there was I will kick myself.

I solo the HH as ret with a 2-hander.

You rely on hitting Art of War instant cast flash of light heals every time you crit with Crusader strike, divine storm or a judgement. I used Judgement and seal of light btw.

The first time his head comes off, you can just dps it like crazy. The second time, he'll start bladestorming around, so try damaging it but avoid him at all costs. Shortly before it flies off for the third time, he'll throw the pumpkins. I found trying to dps them down before they spawn just distracted me from self-healing. Focusing on the adds when they are up and attacking you means by the time the last one drops, he'll just throw 4 more.

I just focused on the horseman throughout. Once all 4 adds are up and hitting you, you'll be taking a lot of damage, but divine storm procing extra seals of light will be healing you a good bit. Keep dpsing the Horseman, Lay on Hands the first time your health drops too much. Bubble the next time it happens and heal up. Come out of this bubble swinging with Avenging Wrath and a good dps trinket up. This will mean your self-heals are absolute nukes, and the horseman should lose his head that much sooner. As soon as it's off, destroy it quickly with all instant-cast damage abilities and Hammer of wrath.

Good luck!

I laughed at that.....if his isn't too great then mine is utterly dismal.

Because of lack of damage reduction as prot (not being uncritible and lower end tanking gear) I had big mana problems at beginning of fight just using judgement of light and seal of light - it just wasn't enough to keep up with the damage. Had to switch to full mana regen....SoW, JoW and BoW (I screwed up and forgot to eat some mana regen food which would have helped possibly switch one of the wisdom spells out for either a SoL or a dps seal). Doing it this way I was able to keep mana and hp both topped up....problem was I was healing so much it made the fight last that much longer....almost 20 minutes to get to third stage (damage was pathetic).

I guess it just depends on your point of reference. My guild has been killing illidan since early February :)

How exactly did you do that? Clear up to Moroes, then clear the horses to Attumen, then pull Moroes down to Attumen?

I tanked for 4 pallies last night. Was super fun. We burned through H SV, H SP and H SH in around 2 hours.

The burst of ret made aggro touchy on low rage pulls but damn stuff died fast.

Go Go Pally Power. You guys rock.

I have always liked grouping with retadins but it is about time you got some love from the masses.

Unless Moroes no longer resets when running out of his room you'd have to pull Attumen up to Moroes. With how hard raids got the nerf bat I can see it happening: as long as nothing you do forces a reset.

/slaps forehead. Duh! Forgot about the reset. So can you actually kite Attumen to Maiden? Or Opera? That would be funny.
