I levelled my skinning and leatherworking as I levelled my rogue from 1 to 70. LW was fun, though I haven't really put that much time or effort into it (Due to starting playing the game earlier this year and knowing the xpac was coming). I had planned to get some epics with my leatherworking originally but the level cap is increasing soon and I don't really want to have wasted my time on those items. I was considering picking up engineering for the jumper cables, and I want a motorcycle mount when the xpac comes. Is there any really good gear coming for engineering with the expansion? I have wanted to try engineering for a while but haven't really decided whether or not to switch out my skinning yet. I do have an alt that does mining/skinning so I could use what he finds to fuel my skillups in wotlk. Basically just asking should I do leatherworking/skinning? or leatherworking/engineering?

Depends on how much money you want to spend/have.

If you are floating in money or are willing to put out for it than go Engineering/LW.

If you are cheap or don't make money easily stick with skinning.

Engineering has a really nice Glove enchant so its worth it if you have the money.

about LW, i saw i got a +15 critical strike rating from something called "master skinner" or something? Just a FYI.

I's nice that the gather professions add something now even though it's probably still better to have 2 "build professions".
