Hi all, i just noticed that spellstones have changed. they now provide 40 haste rating and a 1% increase to periodic spells. this seems like they might actually be useful now.

am i crazy or do my suspicions have merit?

Technically, the spellstone enchants your weapon to provide that buff. As does does the firestone, except its 35 crit and 1% to DD spells. So basically they're replacing Oils for warlocks, unless you really want +damage.

no need for the +dmg, the 1% increase in damage to whichever is your specs main damage spells alone is better than the increase you're likely to get from any other weapon oil (currently, haven't checked lvl.80 stuff). mix that in then with 35 crit or 40 haste (before talents, if you talent it it's up to 47 and 52, and I presume the 1% increase goes to 1.3%) and you've got an amazing weapon buff. personally I've been using these constantly since the patch.

nice. im really happy that these got buffed, i dont think i had ever created a spellstone save for once when i first got the spell.

having another 1% increase in my dot damage on top of haunt is great.

the firestone looks pretty decent now as well.
I was wondering the same thing this past weekend and it looks like I now have a reason to use them..

ya, you can pretty much presume, firestone for dest, spellstone for afliction. demo though is a bit of a grey area...

I made the spellstone and firestone the first day then got booted off. My firestone is fine but my spellstone vanished and now when I try to make another one it says the item is already in my inventory. Kinda sucks seeing as how I spec'd affliction. :(

Not anymore. They changed the way they work. As was said earlier in the post, they now apply to your weapon like Wizard Oils. They are an applied buff, not an equipped piece. Read forums/patch notes/tool-tips before you go and make yourself look stupid in the future.

Personal attacks make you look stupid too, the fact that instead of giving helpful feedback for a question you probably yourself had at one point as well. I myself have missed alot in the patch notes, and am still finding stuff out about my class/spec that I missed in the Patch Notes because there was just too much info to take in at 1 time. was not really meant as a personal attack, more as advice, and yeah, I'm an *******, deal with it. Also, it was posted IN THIS VERY THREAD that they work like wizard oils now, I even quoted it.
