My mana regen went from 200 mp5 while casting to 55 while casting...WTF.

How do i get it back up as a holy priest? Or should I just respec shadow?

I tried to take a look at your armory profile but it seems buggy and not upto date, soooo quick question when you respecced did you go deep holy to the 51 point talent and not have enough for Meditation? This would account for a huge drop in your Mp5.

I have no points in Discipline. 56 holy, 5 shadow for spirit tap (for solo questing)

basically I need a raiding spec that works for 5 mans where I wont always have a shaman or spirest.

As there aren't enough points to pick up both Guardian Spirit and Meditation at 70, you're going to have to make a choice, looking at your Mp5 outside of the FSR, Meditation accounts for 144 Mp5 while casting, this won't be easy to pick up elsewhere. As you're not wearing the PMC set you won't get the 5% set bonus there either.

Extra spirit won't help you as without Meditation you won't gain the regen inside the FSR. You can pick up some from Superior Mana Oil but I doubt you're going to get close to enough to make you viable.

You could consider a deep disc build to raid heal instead, that's definitely viable now. Alternatively respec deep holy but don't go down as far as Guardian Spirit so you can still get Meditation. Had you had the PMC set you'd have around 100 Mp5 unbuffed and with some extra spirit and other buffs might have made 130ish.

I tried speccing without Meditation and my Mp5 is 132, it's not what I'm used to but it's just about doable.

Alternatively as you say you can always respec you should be sitting on a pretty nice Spell Power pool even in holy gear though the lack of Hit might cause you issues, unless of course you have an off set sitting around.

With a few more points from levelling soon you'll be ok, but for now you're always going to lose a huge chunk of Mp5 if you don't spec Meditation, you'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth living with or do something about it.

I plan on going deep holy but the first talent points I spent when I respecced were to get up to Meditation. I'll be filling in the Holy Tree as I go. Guardian Spirit looks nice but it'll have to wait - there's nothing worse than an OOM healer.

I actually went full holy now. Mana regen took a big hit without meditation, and what is worse you can only drink one potion per fight now.
Is this a big problem? It is certainly noticeable in some cases. But I did ZA, SSC, TK and Hyjal and the 3 first runs I was #1 on healing - in ZA I did 70% of all healing FFS. The fights are so short now that they usually end before I am completely dry. So it is doable.

Now I am thinking how to gem gear, in the light of these changes. It looks like spirit is not so good any more. I am considering going back to Royal Nightseyes, for the 2mp5, in place of the 'purified' cuts.
I also took the free cast after crit talents - as a possible help for the mana problems. That might make the power+crit cuts interesting for yellow sockets.

So gemming spell power in the first place, adding mp5 in blue sockets and crit in yellow.
Any comments to that idea?

(btw, if anybody want's to utilize the free casts after a crit - get an addon that shows when they trigger, like needtoknow - otherwise it is impossible)

I'm still for sticking with spirit. The idea of the free casts is to use them to get outside the 5 second rule so we can get more from our spirit. Of course if you don't have meditation spirit doesn't make so much sense, but soon enough as we start levelling again, those who have gone 51 points in holy will put their new points in meditation.

Crit seems like a reasonable choice for yellow slots. Haste too.

The basic green Northrend gems are better than our epic gems so in theory replacements should come cheap.

Been using power auras, works fine for me, but seems worth checking out other options, ty.

A scrolling combat text (I use Parrot) with buff gains/debuffs flashing *huge* across your screen works well, though it's annoying in PvP. I combine that with ClassTimer, adding in special procs/trinkets/etc in order to make sure I notice when they happen and exactly how long they'll last without diverting my attention away from the focus of my screen (buffs up in a corner, DoT timers/target frames/raid frames in the bottom-center).
