Hiya

It mostly depends on how y like to play m8/What gear you have already.

I got prot gear and like the solo/protection style. I dont think is faster or slower than the other specs.

For instance : A quest tells you to kill 10 mobs.

Arms/furry : You ll probably choose to kill 1 by 1 the mobs very fast and after 2-3 kills you ll need to heal a bit.

Protection: A wise choise is to pick a fight with at least 4 of them :)) and when they drop dead the other 4 and then 2 with no heals. I do that with almost all daily quests in the island-especially those on the 3 ships: The other players get so ungry at me taking all mobs at same time(GRRR.. LET ME HAVE ONE!!!)well thats the main diference between tanking and dps warr

I bet the time to level to 80 with both practices is (hm?) the same.

I ve noticed some facts though during my 60 to 70 run : I honestly thought it would be quiker going to 70 as dps rather as protection with the idea in my mind to swich back to protection at 70:Wrong

The more time y spend on a spec the more y get used to it the better items you receive from quests for your spec the better people know you for what y do and asked to help or be helped the faster y gain full content of the game the less time y spend after 80 in re-specing re-finding quest items for your new spec ,re-finding new friens,re-doing same instances ,re do all over from Zero.

Getting to 80 is meaningless or better say: its just a small step.... as was getting from 60 to 70 . 70 was the beggining not the end

Best guess is :Pick the one(spec) that you will probably stick for a looong time

I'm going to actually say I disagree to some extent.

Specifically as arms ..... I did the entire Arm the Wards and redploying of arcane robot thing quests in one and a half pulls (the second pull was only 3 mobs). I ran around an threw knives at 5 protectors, while I did this I agrod about 6 or so wretched dudes ... that's 11 mobs ( i was def stance with a shield and shield wall up, otherwise I might have been hurt). Once they were all on me, I popped sweeping strikes and bladestorm .... man oh man ... I"ve not seen that many big numbers pop all at the same time ... ever.

I had a sudden death execute available with a full rage bar after 6 seconds, which was enough (hehe) to finish off the last mob. 4500 dps .... 11 mobs, 3 mana remnants, 5 protectors. One more pull of 3 mobs got the last drop, and I was done. Definitely not a 1v1 fight, and that was 53/8/0 arms. Ok, I did need to eat after that (Actually I almost died, was very close), but the job was done.

As TG fury the night before, I noted quite clearly that I did all 10 of the dailies on the isle with zero downtime .. that's right .. .NO eating or bandaging. The effect of the bloodthirst heal (small, but pretty much all I needed), together with dropping mobs so Quickly (most of the time before the 3 second intercept stun wears off) meant that it felt like a very effective method to level. As for my gear, I'm in crafted, quested and PvP gear, with Despair as my off hand (my one and only Kara drop)

I will be giving prot a go from a levelling perspective, but from what I've read, and what I see of the talents, I believe it will be just as viable.

There I agree 100% ... they're all perfectly viable, it actually makes no difference now.

Hiya

coffee time..

It so cool warriors can do it in every spec.

I guess you are right about the island quests form your game expirience(your full epic ,right?) you had. Hell, can I take 11 and not die?(I ve had max 6 on me-but then i needed some healing-using normal attacks,no shield wall, 30% epic) Nice...

Hehe most of times I m bored doing the dailys by myself :)) I got a friend-pet shammy that parks the mobs close to me and then i keep the company while he fetches some more...( so bored there..)

But my guess(?) is that at 74 level when all warriors have green gear and struggle to level to 75 then the protection warrior will be able to take more mobs on him and kill them slowly while the dps will pick 1 fight at a time killing them super fast. I guess they will both have to heal a little bit and probably they ll both do it at the same time.

If your gear is super you probably can play super whatever spec/stance y got...(at 70) but while leveling(70 to 80) as a dps-protect you have to change(a bit?) your playstyle according your class benefits( advanteges and dissadvantages). But lets wait and see this in practise what will happen ( we r so close to the new expansion yeeeeaaa!!!)

One thing to consider (and I do take it in mind), and that is that the Quel'Danas mobs are easy, I'll aaaalmost go far enough to say, rediculously so ... but, 70s still die there, so I wouldn't go that far.

I still believe that the Multi-mob utility given to you by Bladestorm will allow you do handle a LOT more than one at a time. Heck, even levelling to 70, I could take 3-4 at a time with Sweeping Strikes and Whirlwind.

Don't get me wrong, I still see prot as being the king of multi-mob handling, they always have been, they just haven't been that effective in doing so at any decent rate - that's different now. So you'll probably find the multi-mob abilities being pretty close to shared between Arms and Prot ... I would still say Arms may beat it out, but not having tried prot yet, I can't form a concrete answer.

As for Fury, you'll probably stick with 1v1 for the most part, WW will help if you over-pull. But killing seems to be so bloody quick as Fury, it very definitely makes up for the lack of Multi mob ability.

As for my gear: My one trinket is green quest reward from Nagrand, the other is a blue quest reward from Hellfire. My helm is the overlord's helm, shoulders and gloves are ragesteel (crafted). Legs are Blue BoE legs (I forget the name), chest, bracers and boots are S1 PvP (lots stam and crit, lacking a bit in str for my liking). Belt and cloak are Red Belt and Vengeance wrap, and my weapon is bloodmoon ... these last 3 are my best pieces.

So, 1 green, 5 blues, 6 epics ... not that uber ... but good enough for ultra easy level 70 questing ... probably take me most of the way to 75. I don't see it not staying at least this level of difficulty (maybe a touch harder) levelling up. If I take my experiences from 58-60, they were tough (imo), but as soon as I started picking up the gear which related to the content, levelling became a lot simpler.
