Does anybody know, on average, how long it would take for this to proc? I'd have a look myself but haven't had a chance to play yet.

10% chance, 30second cd.. I'd say you can expect a proc every 40-45 seconds.

Thanks.

Hmm, now that I think about it, that's fairly obvious.

So lets see:

Thats about a proc every, say, 48 seconds.
It lasts for 12 seconds, for a 20% bonus, so an average of 5%.
Since half of the time you're casting DoTs or Lifetap, that would be closer to 2.5%
Probably not worth the points.

dots do benefit from haste. it improves the dpsc, which is THE stat to look at when comparing dps, it's a common misconception that haste doesn't benefit dots, just most people are to dumb to realise. the average of about 5% haste is pretty accurate, so another way of looking at the talent is that it's a 5% increase in damage done/dps. definately worth taking.

As far as casting goes, haunt, shadowbolt, and UA all benefit from haste. Life tap should piggy back on any of these and as long as you don't clip your dots the should too. Corruption should only be cast once if you can keep the haunt rotation meaning your only instant casts are your curse and SL. You will be casting spells more often than instant casts making haste a wanted thing. You won't benefit as much as those with longer cast times, but you'll still benefit.

It is to my understanding that, because of the internal cooldown, you should not max this talent out. 2 points, or even 1, should be enough to grant you the buff when it gets off cooldown.
