Have you tried pvp yet? Hunter is now easy meat... Follow

Yes, hunters got some useful upgrade. However, other classes got major boots. Just got my *** kicked by pallies and mages. Does anyone have any solution? Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Do what we've done in the past... pve. lol. I dunno. I was hoping to be a little more pvp viable this time around. I don't mind either way though really. I'd rather they left hunters alone really but meh...? I will certainly be playing with it in the near future though. (As soon as I put out a few fires at work). ugh... real life.

I got ganked by a rogue in a bunch of S3 gear, and he failed. I didn't even have disengage on my bar.

I really hope that he bought his account, because I really suck at PvP.

heres the plan... go BM

use a chimera, when the ret pallies are running towards u have ur chimera keep em back/slow them down and lay around 5k Damage in that short period. When they get close wing clip disengage. Hit em with another 3k damage in that time period. Then they'll try and heal around this time if they're smart because they'll b at about 3k hp~4k hp. If they use shield lay a frost trap and wait if they don't intimadate. Once the shield is off activate BW and lay the smackdown!!! just stay away from melee range.

This could also work with other pets, just inplace of the froststorm breath wait for the pallies to get on u and use intimidate and just suffer the heals.

I've had some luck with BM, though I've heard so good things about MM. I did come across a survival hunter who wasn't having much fun in AB though, wasn't too happy with the patch changes. But i don't know if other survival hunters feel the same way.

My solution was to kite the pallys, which honestly was quite difficult; since if you ***** up and get with range for a stun its 'lights out'. But disengage and the +10% run speed (BM) made this easier (frost trap, intimidation (BM), concussive shot are still great too). Potsorigional's post is making me want to try the new pets out (so far i haven't ventured away from my windserpent, but i have less focus regen now, so it may be time to :( ).

IMO, the good thing with a pally (unlike a rogue) is that you can see them coming and prepare.

Also I did get killed pretty good by a mage once... was a bit impressed with the extra burst of power they seem to have now. With everyone powered up I don't seem to live as long in a BG as I used to, which isn't all bad. I guess if nothing else I've only rarely had to switch from AotH to AotV.

All night though I was seeing pallys, hunters, and rogues at the top of the damage counts. So i guess i feel a lil' nerfed (or under-improved maybe?) but not too bad. (Eternal optimist here XD) Plus side is I only need 3 more AB marks for my shoulders, then it's time to get this toon to 70 :D

The only thing that used to be able to kill me was a deep frost mage, but now it seems I'm like the jugernuat

I had a really nice flag cap earlier today. Ran to horde flag room there was a single ret pally guarding flag. 2 Ally guys were pounding him, my chimera crit'd for like 500~600ish damage Then we finished him quick. I grabbed flag and aspected me and my 2 guards dow nthe long tunnel. We got about half way down the field and when met up with some horde. I raped the shammy before he could get to me by the time he got close he had about 2k hp left and the 2 guards i had took him out. Then a rogue tries to gank me i immediatly activate BW and my chimera's breath stops him from pursuing, by the time he comes to mei have a trap waiting for him. I disengage kill him the aspect to our flag room :D

It seems like resilience matters more than ever now. I forgot to put my pvp gear on and I might as well have been wearing toilet paper. I would get destroyed in seconds.

Once I switched to my pvp gear 396-405 res depending on weapons, it was back to normal slayage.

Important safety tip though that I learned from a guildmate. Beware of disengage around cliffs.

The guildmate he was dueling was laughing for hours after the hunter disengaged off a cliff and died.

My wife loves to play MM spec in BGs (both before and after the patch). Is this because the DPS is inherently superior to BM? Heck no! ('cause it isn't)

However, 99% of the opponents in a BG ASSUME that all PvP hunters are BM spec. If her opponent(s) even think about messing with her vastly underpowered pet, this gives her plenty of time to blow their heads off. Even if they ignore the pet and go for her, she has enough tools to stay out of melee range and usually win the battle. Currently the toughest class for her to deal with are mages (pretty much any spec). She also PvP's a LOT and has gotten quite good at it, so she frequently tops the DPS charts in BGs with her MM spec hunter.

I am clearly not advocating everyone do this, but it works for her and she is having fun, so I thought I would mention it. She does like the fact that with trueshot aura, aspect of the hawk, and all of the buffs she gets in BGs she has something like 2100 Attack Power and about 37% crit chance, and that is all in standard BG PvP gear and a bit of Kara gear(she doesn't do arenas for now).

Thats a great strategy after the patch as everyone in the bg would automatically assume she was BM. It works to your benefit to always surprise ppl. I have a 51 BM spec but ill never get an exotic as its a dead giveaway. Good on her for playing the way she wants :).

Mages were never an issue for me and I'm not all that good at PvP. They just didn't have the staying power to deal with all a hunter could dish out in burst fire. I don't know what upgrades they've gotten since the patch but I know what I can do now and unless they can deal with the pet, they are going to have their hands full. Pally's were the challenge, but if we have a frosting pet, then that's your PvP answer.

I think all the classes got a boost in some fashion, we'd be kind of stagnant for a while, but with the new levels available come Nov. 13th, all of this could be academic. So PvP while you can, after mid-November, we are all back to levelling or having our heads handed to us even if you are in Lvl 70 S3-S4 gear. Levels mean a LOT!

I can see a lot of BM spec hunters getting an exotic for PvE, but I imagine their use in PvP is limited. Everyone already assumes hunters in BGs or arena are BM... if they see and exotic, that does just confirm it.

Paladins are currently over powered. So don't worry about them too much. Mages on the other hand, aren't bad at all. You should be able to drop them. If you're BM, just shoot them until they use frost nova (if they do) and out of your shooting range. If they do, you can use BW. Well, that's what I'd guess, because mages usually don't kill me unless they do that, and I don't play BM spec.
Marksman is a lot better, because you get silencing shot, which can counter a spell AND silences them for 4 seconds, which can be anywhere from 1-5 spells.
Oh, and Arcane Shot is your friend. Well, it isn't as much as it should be (the remove 1 spell effect thing really does need to be reimplemented) but it still helps to blast through shields and the like, and is more reliable than steady shot.
There's something nice:

I'm still deciding if I should go for Chimera shot though. I REALLY like Scatter Shot. Yay utility!

*EDIT*
Hmmm... Armory's out of date. I'm supposed to be lvl 70 and have Merciless Gladiator's shoulders chests and legs. Maybe it'll update soon.
