Hi guys after the patch last night i went out with my hunter to see whats been done to him. Everything seems fine except now as soon as i shoot at something my pet will attack it, this is on the defense setting and could cause problems for pulling. Does anyone know if this was a change they made or is it just a bug?. Did anyone else experience this? If this stays like this i will have to set the pet to passive.

It's a new change to pet behaviour.
Defensive pets will attack anything YOU attack, unless they are already busy with another mob.

Thanks for the info , although don't really like that change ...more strategy required now. Solo pve pull requires u to switch to passive now. Guess it better to set the pets to passive now and just use specific macros...maybe can set one that will set the pet to passive first.

I'm really liking my hunter. As for the pet thing, I always send my pet to attack the mob first, then I shoot it. I haven't done it the other way around. Have to check that out tonight. By the way, was anyone able to tame new exotics? I got an error when I tried. Even tho beast lore said it was tamable. Boooo

Did anybody raid or do instances with the new skills? How did it go? Did the pets do better or worse?

The problem i find with this is if u go into a dungeon and your the main puller and u dont have that pet on passive you probably just got everyone into a bad situation with your pet sittin in the middle of the room drawing aggros :(. Personally when i solo i like to use a shot to pull away from other mobs then when the mob is half way to me a sick the pet on them (meanwhile ive stopped hitting the mob from the first shot) the mob will never get to u it will go for the pet still.

The Ravager i used to use is meh now..got to play with the pet talents a bit more. But i did pick up a new pet a wasp ..hes like my new rogue killer :). Im able to beat lvl 70 rogues now im lvl 68 in greens :), as soon as they pop out i hit them with intimidate, maybe after using my alliance trinket to break stun pet hits them with armor reducing spell and then keeps them from vanishing :), mix that with a snake trap and save your rage and voila dead rogue. The scorpid looks interesting to, with the scorpid poison stack and i believe they can now charge maybe worth a look.

My hunter has lost alot with the new changes though at 68, im a BM hunter but i use improved stings those are gone for now till around lvl 80 ..i miss those alot :(.

Ran mana tombs on my 65 BM hunter last night with some other people of similar level. It was insane... just laughably easy. My friend was playing his 66 Retardin and we NEVER ran out of mana. We probably used less than 5 waters collectively.

Pet is noticably more powerful now, but so was everyone else. It was hard to get a good gauge on just how much more effective I was b/c mobs were dying so fast. Pet had to keep running around to new mobs and spent too much time out of combat.

The only hiccup of the run was when we got a little overboard and pulled an entire room. Still didn't die b/c of the mobs, but rather b/c the pallies got themselves assploded by a big pack of mana leeches :P

Hate to be picky, but do you really call your friend a "Retardin" or was that a typo, or maybe a Freudian slip?

(edit for poor spelling...who's the ****** now?)
