Best raid Boss fight saving Hunter ability evah?

Quote:
Intervene
20 Focus 8 - 25 yd range
Instant 30 sec cooldown
Your pet runs at high speed towards a group member, intercepting the next melee or ranged attack made against them.

Buff
Intervene
The next melee or ranged attack made against you will be made against the intervening pet instead.
10 seconds remaining

Late Gruul fight, too many growths, and it's getting really close to a tank kill and a wipe? Hunters take turns Intervening with their Pets. Dozens of other examples along those lines. With a 30 second cool down it might even be able to be used more than once in a fight by any given Pet. For that matter, why wait until late in the fight? Use the Hunter Pets to soak hits throughout. If they die it's far better than the tank, and far easier and faster to res them and get them back into the fight. And if they live Mend Pet will bring their health back pretty fast and they'll be ready to take another hit.

Intervene is a charge like ability.
Pet rushes towards player it intervene's, pet gets hit.
If the pet ends up anywhere but at the exact same spot the tank is standing, the boss is going to turn to hit the pet.
That turning can kill melee with some bad luck.

It seems more like a caster save ability to me. If the healer or dps caster pulls hate, you can send pet on the target and force the intercept... if you are quick enough to notice it. Probably send as the caster gets too high on the hate list. Seems to make a pet a 'reserve resource' for certain fight types. At least that's how I'm reading it, I could be wrong... ^_^
