A bit confused about talent points for pets now. I skimmed a few topics and maybe i missed it, but do pets gain talent points through levels?

So is it more beneficial to raise a low level pet rather than one youve been raising?

no.

Any level 70 pet will have the same number of talent points as any other level 70 pet. Any level 65 pet will have the same number as any other level 65. It doesn't matter how you got the pet or when.

The only exception to this is when a hunter spends points in the Beast Mastery talent to increase the number of talent points his/her pet has.

It's not the leveling process, it's the level.

Well, since this isn't covered in the sticky...

Oh wait..

Loyalty points=/=Pet talent points

The sticky clearly says something along the lines of "all pets get the same, no matter what level raised from."

Edit: Oh, sorry, they are completely different, let me rephrase this. All pets receive the same number of talent points, regardless of what level you tamed them at. Therefore, a level 80 pet that you tamed at 80 would have the same number of talent points as a level 80 pet that you tamed at level 10.

Hate to be the one asking the stupid question, but how do I get into my pet's tree? I looked all over and could not find it.

On your talents page, there is a tab off to the side for pets that opens up their page.

You do have to have your pet summoned to access the pet tree. If you check your talents menu without your pet summoned, the tab does not appear. It will also change to match your currently summoned pet... as of yet, there's no way to modify pets that aren't summoned.

your pet gains it's first talent point at level 20, and gains an additional one every 4 levels, for a total of 16 points (20 points total if you specced for the Beast Master talent)
