Crossposted from my guild forum...

Remember when the pre-TBC patch hit? It changed the face of the major cities. Tree Druids were brand new, so every Druid specced tree and therefore there were treeform Druids everywhere.

Felguards were brand new, and so Warlocks with Felguards were everywhere.

Now it's our turn!

We have 2 extra stable slots, so I want you to use one of your new slots. I want you to spec 51 point BM and grab yourself an exotic pet, a BIG exotic pet!

Yes, I'm talking Devilsaurs, and I'm talking Core Hounds. Sure there are other fun pets, and some existing ones are being changed and need to be played with, but we've been managing with 3 stable slots for years, we now have 5. Please use one of those for a big exotic pet and stand proudly in town. Lets crowd the face of Azeroth and Shattrath with Devilsaurs and Core Hounds foshizzle! (yes, I stole this idea from BRK, but I don't care, it's a great idea)

Hunters stand up and be noticed!

You can't use the pet if you respec out of BM(51) though. An exotic pet will be a dead giveaway of a BM(51) hunter. Just keep that in mind... ^_^

It's because he doesnt post enough.
That makes getting sage easy.

I'm pretty much beyond any shifts in karma unless i either manage to exite a lot of people enough to rate up all my posts or **** off enough people to get all my posts sub-d'd.

And you took it away temporarily! Naughty, naughty... Smiley: laugh

Grats to him anyway.

Edit: The last time I posted in here a lot was when I was BlackRevolution and I only had about 600 posts. I've jumped up in count pretty fast due to OOT.

Ill be getting a devilsaur but i want to wait and let the excitement die down so ill have a better chance of getting the one i want (albino one). The kurken is prolly gonna have to wait longer since im on a PvP server, I might try and tame the white gorilla in un'goro for an aoe tanking pet, For PvP pet im going for either a worm or a wasp.

I went out this morning about 6:30am before work to Un'goro and there wasnt another person in sight. Took me a while to find the white one and I had already tamed the tyrant, so I dropped him, got the white one fought around a bit then Hearthed home to get to work on time.

All the posters in the OoT are really friendly. You should start posting there.

On my server, almost every 51pt BM hunter seems to have trained himself a Core Hound. The rest have Devilsaurs.
I wouldn't mind trying out a Wasp, they look pretty cool.
Up to now I've been running with a Dire Raven for soloing and Ravager for groups.
If my Ravager turns out be an average DPS pet, I'll probably dump him for something else. Maybe get back a Ghost Saber, which I had for so long while levelling.

I was being more tongue in cheek than true with the comment. I watch the OoT and main WoW pages but really play here. I go to other class forums to read how to play that class for my alts, but mostly I'm a hunter at heart.

I usually hang out in the OoT. You should drop by there and check out my thread called Frodo and Me. It's epic. Smiley: lol

Midnight, i'm sooo dissapointed
You and others in these forums taught me everything that has made me a decent hunter, but now I am a ****** because i tamed Uvaros?
Lets get this straight,
As a guild our raiding is suspended until WOTLK due to lack of numbers, I dont need badges so heroics arent really top of my agenda, Which leaves farming(as i dont do pvp), I really dont see how farming with a nice looking fun new pet makes me a tard

Not a ******. Just a tard. :)

And let me make it clear that my issue is from a raider's standpoint. I haven't stopped raiding, and I'm seeing a lot of hunters on my server in active raiding guilds with Corehounds.

If you're just out grinding or killing time, then that extra 20% DPS doesn't matter, I guess. But I still stand by my comment that a level 70 hunter (or worse, level 60) is like a level 50 warlock with a felguard. It's more there to look cool than to be fully functional.

I will raid with a 51/10/0 spec today (scorpid pet).
I really want to see how high poison will tick with full raid buffs against raid bosses.
I got a stack ticking for 700-1090 damage on the lvl 70 training dummy yesterday (only blessing of might, no other buffs, ~700 damage normal; ~1090 with all own cooldowns).
Those 4 talent points really give a bit more utility to my pet, so somehow I like it and for my scorpid I don't really need GftT.

Till Sunday I will train a lvl 70 cat (don't have one currently) and try a 50/11/0 spec with GftT to compare results.

You've never actually been a lvl 50 warlock with a felguard have you?

It's a levelling machine! The felguard is so insanely OP at that level it's like having a 2 man party without the exp gimp.

You're just as wrong about exotics at 70. Sure, there's no GftT, but I haven't noticed any major focus starvation with Bestial Discipline (I wouldnt normally bother taking both anyway) and those 4 extra pet talent points are making the difference between having 2 top tier talents on the one pet, and only having one. Exotics are most definitely viable at 70.

The one thing I'll agree on is, I'm getting slightly done with the stomping sound. I have both a Devilsaur (white one) and a Core Hound (Kurken) although I doubt both will remain in my stable long term.

That being said, I'm very happy with my Silithid.

I think I am gong to snag a wasp tonight. Probally Blacksting.

That ability to sting and make people unstealthable should be fun for PvP. I plan to try a Netherskate to the spell interrupt sounds fun.

Ohh who am I kidding I will probally try them all. :)

I haven't yet tamed a devilsaur or core hound and I'm already waaaay tired of the stomping and ground shaking from other hunters parading around Shatt. :p
I'll probably put up with the stomping around with a rhino for the giggle-factor from his knock-back.

Yeah, the netherskate spell interrupt looks interesting. I'm sure I'll try 'em all out sometime.

Well i am not that impressed with most of the exotic pets so far , i wandered off and got the kurken and so far am not impressed . that thumping walk and screen shake is a huge minus point from me , same for the Devilsaurs but as a new pet the Wasp is great , no Buzz either (unless that is a bug no pun intended ) it seems to be equal to my cat for time spent killing mobs probably that nice armour de-buff at the moment 610 off a mobs armour, it seems mighty fine to me and the way i set the talents needs a rare heal leaving me with plenty of mana to use whatever special shots i feel like trying out.

A wasp was all i have wanted anyway from the first time i saw them in Zangermarsh , so i am happy they lived up to my expectations .

For info: They've said they're removing the ground shake on Corehounds and rhinos via a small patch soon.
