My paladin is going to be my new main, so I've been running through talent calculators a lot looking for what would work best. I don't have real numbers yet, and they might even change before 80 comes along, but these are what I have so far.

Holy:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sxAzxGzhVuMxRtZqbbx0h

Prot:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sVZ0eVAcuMteIRGoxb

Ret:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sZaxZVfbtbIucrsguAo

The holy tree is the one I'm least sure about. Is Bacon useful? Could a 16 minute LoH work, now that it's free? And it's missing every PvP talent in the tree so it's extremely specialized, perhaps too much.

Prot:

Lose Soicism, Judgements of the Just, and a point in Improved Judgements is enough.

My personal 80 tank spec will likely be this.

All four tank classes have a 20% attack speed reduction debuff. Blizzard thinks it's important for some reason.
Stoicism is there because of all the times I nearly die from being stunned while tanking a bit too many guys. I do just fine for a while and then *Stunned* and 4 seconds later I'm at 10%.

You linked mine, by the way.

I've done that myself, a few times..

Fixed link.

This is true. And the chances are, you're going to have at least one of those three other classes in the raid that can use the ability instead. For example, warriors have it baseline (thunderclap) and Arms warriors stay in Battle stance now to DPS, so they have easy access to it. There's so many other talents that are useful to us, speccing into something someone else can do is a bit of a waste.

Stoicism would be ok for solo in that situation I guess, but in dungeons and raids... again, it's a bit of a talent waste. Mobs there don't stun very much and your healer really should be keeping you up.

Bacon is good for instances, but for raids it's potentially bad if the bacon is on the tank and you get under healed on secondary target by other healer.

Improved Lay On Hands can be very nice when you combine it with the minor glyph of lay on hands to increase mana returned and Major glyph of divinity to also get the mana return.

Otherwise on the holy build you might consider instead of 1/5 Deflection and 2/2 improved judgements take 3/3 heart of the crusader. Since you will be judging from a distance might as well debuff the mob your group is attacking.

the if your group has a ret palliy or a rogue they will have that passive 3% crit to everyone, so its another reason not to take that as holy. An prot pallies might have it too. "heart of the crusader"
