I'm goin shs again, maybe not all the way down to shadow dance because i'm still not a fan of the mechanic.
I'm only pvping randomly on my rogue though, most of my gametime now is on my levelling druid since my guild is kinda awol till LK.

Finished testing tonight and it's looking like Mutilate (4+n/4+r unglyphed) with Trackers Blade/Messenger, DP/IP, gemmed with Agi.....ugh, tests are stupid. But at least I got the hang of dealing with the 3 timers now.

=D

After next week's BT/SWP runs I'll know for sure if I'll stay Muti, but.....

Cheers!

Staying with mutilate, which I raid Kara with (not raiding much else on that character, or at all for that matter).

I'll just be happy to rearrange some points for free.

not, because my pc is out to get upgraded a bit in preparation for WotLK.
Once it's back (probably next week, depends on when I have the time to pick it up) I'll have to level to 10 first :P

And make a character.. that'll probably take more time that leveling to lvl 10.
After all that it'll be combat all the way until I can go Mut.

I'm staying combat. And I will go shadowstep for PvP ocasionally.

Why combat? I raid only two times a week on my rogue and I don't want to re-gem everything I have right. Beside according to spreadsheet combat and mutilate (with gear I have right now) difference is not big, and actually combat wins. Maybe with better daggers mutilate would be FTW.
Anyway at 70 I will stay combat and at 80 I will go mutilate.

Actually I'm not focused on my rogue right now. I am trying to gear up my new sweet cow (female tauren protection warrior) and I must say I enjoy protection warrior (and patch will mess a bit too).

Mutilate, probably, though I'm going to seriously miss not having Prep for a bit. If it's too hard to bare I'll go back to my Seal Fate/Premed hybrid I've currently got.

I haven't had time to do the proper research and am stuck here cramming through 3 weeks of posts. Will most likely switch over to mutilate for leveling, but am not sure how it will affect pvp. Have plenty of pve daggers (malachazeen, emerald ripper righgt now) but was too lazy to farm S2.

# Fleet Footed - rank 2/2
# Cold Blood - rank 1/1
# Seal Fate - rank 5/5
# Murder - rank 2/2
# Overkill - rank 1/1
# Focused Attacks - rank 3/3
# Find Weakness - rank 3/3
# Master Poisoner - rank 3/3
# Mutilate - rank 1/1
# Cut to the Chase - rank 5/5

Why would you take Imp Sinister Strike and Mutilate?

Agreed, Imp Evis shows lower DPS than Envenom cycles far as I can tell. Fleet Footed is trumped by Cat's Swiftness enchant to boots. Vigor also. I found that without glyphs the 2 finisher cycles were just fine with some energy pooling, with glyphs 3 finisher cycles work great as well.

This is the build I found offered up the best DPS for me once I got the hang of the 3 timers thing. Kinda reminds me of running an Affliction Lock.

ummm... I wouldn't?

See it's nice when you know your own weaknesses are working double time against you, but you can come here and get some sense smacked into ya'. I don't mind ignoring or absorbing the reactions of all the math people here who don't understand how a scatter-brained math-tard like me can be as successful as I've been as a rogue. Smiley: laugh

So, I'm currently at 29, speccing into combat swords for levelling, and I wanted to know with the changes that are being made, two things.

First, is riposte going to be worth the 4 points at my level, or should I just put them all into precision instead?

Second, is Imp Evis going to be better for me than Imp SnD? Currently, I don't use SnD because fights only last until I can get 4 combo points and evis. Is that going to change anytime soon?

Thanks for your help.

Precision first. I did find Reposte pretty helpful sometimes while leveling but you can't compare it to the +Hit of one of Combats foundation talents.

Imp SnD is a generally a raiding talent and Imp Evis is more useful while leveling imho. Be sure you're concentrating on stunning mobs more than just pumping out big numbers. I found that I could often Cheap Shot and Kidney Shot mobs long enough to kill them without taking much damage at all, or very nearly. This increases uptime which equals more xp/hour.

Cheers.

Thanks. I had planned on using KS once I get it instead of Evis, but I'm glad to hear that I was right that Imp evis would probably help me more.

Riposte, I'm kinda iffy on, since I hardly ever notice any parrys and I can't really see myself getting that many more with an extra 6%. I'll probably just stick with precision. Thanks again for your help!

To be clear: I'm suggesting Precision 5/5 for all Combat builds (and most Mutilate builds after the patch). Didn't intend to sound like "Precision OR Reposte".. Stack Precision first, if you have the points after that Resposte can be helpful while leveling.

Good luck!
