So with 3.0 hitting tomorrow I'm still not entirely sure wether a TG/Incite build would beat a Sudden Death build or vice versa.

So rather than post somthing on the Oboards where I would get ten people saying TG and ten others saying Sudden death with no proof either way I figured I'd get some actual feedback from here.

Right now I'm leaning towards TG because thats the one I tested on my short time on the PTR and it seemed like it worked pretty well (and this is before the 12% miss/5 sec BT buff) and because I only have Vanir's fists which dont really fit into a weapon spec (well they didn't last I checked) but if Sudden Death is the way to go I'll try it out.

Thaughts?

Thanks in advance

I dismiss execute from being useful for leveling. Even with an extra 10 rage after. Whoop-tee-doo.

15% extra miss chance. I don't know if this is going to push your chance to miss with skills up 15% as well. So instead of just having your 9% to hit, so BT/slam/WW don't miss, you'll need 24% to guarantee hits... I haven't seen any concrete records of which way it's gonna go.

Anyone got a link on that?

Seriously though, my thought on speccing for an update that is designed for the expansion, is I still have no point to raid ATM, and I just want WotLK to hit stores sooner. I'm sticking with Prot, until they make Arms and Fury more interesting.

Sudden death for leveling seems kinda bad as you say, but assuming I want to raid up until wrath as I am my guilds only raiding DPS warrior, what of the two specs would prevail?

Also I should probebly add more detail on gear, I have both Vanir's fists for 1hers (both 2.5 speed) and for 2hers I will have World Breaker (2h mace from SSC) and the badge 2h after my next kara badge farm. As stats go I have 2100 ish AP 30.5% crit and 220 ish hit and just getting into T6 gear (have Rage Winterchill's ugly shoulders but everything else within reach refuses to drop).

Not sure if that helps so if you need any more info just ask.

P.S- Somwhere in the last week they announced TG was being made 12% miss, can't find a link right now though

It's being changed to 12%, which means base chance to miss with specials is 17%.

As for the OP, "Prot".

I'm not joking, either. It does comparable damage compared to Fury or Arms with more burst, if anything. It also has so many overlapping stuns (Conc Blow, Shockwave) and "take no damage" abilities (Shield Block, Disarm) that you effectively level like a Rogue, with no downtime since you're never actually taking damage. You can solo 3-man Elites without _too_ much difficulty with good gear, and even with bad gear it's going to be fast leveling. Plus you can do instances.

Well as much as I would like to not spec prot for raid DPS (call me old fashioned but it will just feel wrong for a while...) if thats the way to go to be successful then so be it.

One more question right now, how would you play/spec a prot DPS warrior for raids? I'm assuming somthing along the lines of spam devastate and possibly wirlwind while dual weilding but chances are I missed somthing.

Thanks again

Oh. Sorry, thought this was a leveling question.

For DPS I'd go Arms, 53/8. Use the Badge Axe and Poleaxe spec.
