To be all the Druid you can be you will need 2 sets.

You can read the sticky to find out what stats you'll need for which set of gear.

It is under III - What stats do Druids need.

Gotta love them stickies!!

Well you can try and find some items that have the stats for both. But as the above posted stated to be the best feral dps, or the best tank dps you will need two different sets. DPS gear just isn't going to give you the dodge you will need for tanking. That stickie posted is definately useful. :)

This might change some in the expansion, however. Armor values won't be boosted any more, and we have no need for defense thanks to changes in our talents. Apparently a lot of our armor will be shared with rogues. The difference may come down more or less to gemming options (tanks will go for pure stamina, DPS for agility).

Not positive it'll be this way, but the snippets I've heard suggest as much.

What Locke said. For WotLK, druids will use the same base gear as rogues (melee DPS leather). What will differ between rogues, feral DPS, and feral tanks is how we enchant, how we gem, and a few off-slots. Most likely, you will use a different weapon, a different idol, different rings and neck, and different trinkets.

Like the previous people have already posted, your armor will look alot like like a rouge and later depending on how you enchant it depends on your abilities. My druid was the 3rd or 4th toon i stated to actually level, so I had a bit of gold, I bought two sets of armor, for the lower levels, I had pretty much everything 'of the Monkey' for melee DPS, and for tanking everything was 'of the Bear', I cant ever decide what spec to go so I also have a set for Balance and Resto. Later as you level, especially in the outland I got almost everything 'of the Bandit', but still kept up with my DPS armor, then get your PvP gear. So yeah you should have at least two sets to be a good versatile druid.

As a side point, vanilla WoW had random enchants "of the Bear", "of the Monkey", "of the Tiger"... a bonus to two base stats or a slightly larget bonus to one base stat. TBC added greens with three properties, from three base stats (of the Beast, Str/Agi/Stam), two base stats and a non-base stat (of the Sorcerer, Stam/Int/Spellpower), and 1 base stat and two non-base stats (forget the sufix, Int/Spell Damage/Spell Crit). Any idea what the LK green random enchants are?

I believe they have not been changed this time round.
