Polymorph Pig issuesFollow

I recently went back to Azshara to pick up Polymorph pig with another Mage buddy the same level as I (level-68) and we have noticed, both of us...that when we use it against PvP players in BG's...it wears off insanely fast. If you watch the symbol for the spell on the players portrait, the 'sweeping-hand' timer effect goes around almost like the global cooldown intstant spell icons....they aren't immune to the effect, and they can't possibly be using a trinket OVER & OVER repeatedly...and they weren't Druids....so....what gives with this?

Any ideas? Regular poly worked fine against them....just not Poly-pig.

......confused

Diminishing Returns on pvp players.

It lasts 6 seconds the first time, 3 the next, 1.5 the next then after that they are immune I believe. For 6 or 10 seconds then you can do it again.

It actually lasts 10 seconds on the first try then goes to DR and scales down accordingly.

I think he's saying it's wearing off faster than the sheep, which would be a problem with the pig itself. My twin frost mage friend and I may go get the pig today, so I'll let you know if I see the same problem, though I don't usually use polymorph often in BGs.

Yes Trill, thank you. The problem was with the Pig version of poly. We did testing in the BG's for the remaining few we did. I had thought he was exaggerating when he began talking about it in vent, as I had used Poly a few times when I got waylaid by 2 two I'd try and burn down the other, or when I just wanted to get to more friendly players without fighting. I used my sheep Poly several times last night, and many lasted almost 15 seconds or so. However when I changed out my spell after he mentioned it...sure enough, the poly would wear off 'almost' as fast as you could spam it with the GCD.

Thanks for your answers. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch. I'll post more about this after tonight's round of Bg's

Sounds to me like there was simply a DOT or other player hitting the poly'd target though.

Well? :)

We got our pig and immediately yelled LET'S GO PIG SOME PEOPLE! and went to the bgs, then after that, got distracted and did something else, etc. I guess I could test it tomorrow, but it seemed to work the same at BT as sheep did anywhere else.

It must have been some kind of glitch that only lasted until we logged out that night. It happened SEVERAL times though, in different BG's against several people. Last night however...no issues in any BG or when testing Pig-Poly at all. I still don't know why one would work, but the other wouldn't....but, I am just glad both seem to be working fine now.

Thanks for the help again.

I also noticed that Pig would seem to break a lot more earlier than sheep, and more often. To me, it seems unreliable so I don't bother using it anymore.

I don't know. I have Sheep, Pig, and Turtle, and they all last the same amount when used first. /shrug

I really wish the Pig was pink though. At a quick glance, it doesn't look much different from a Sheep.

Meh, I used sheep all through T5 and pig all through T6, never notice any difference. It lasts the same amount of time and doesn't break any easier.. if it is breaking pre-maturely you need to up your spellhit.
