How big of a nerf is 3.0.2 going to be to resto druids?Follow

I'm just curious if anyone has any information about how bad 3.0.2 is going to be for us Resto Druids? Considering that they've significantly lowered the healing coefficients on Lifebloom, are we going to take a massive hit in healing output until we get to 80? Since we don't get Nourish until 80, I'm thinking we're going to be having to use a lot more Regrowths, thereby significantly decreasing our mana efficiency.

This is all speculation of course, since I'm not on the beta or PTR, but I'm definitely curious to hear from people that are.

Thanks in advance,
Camel

More speculation -- would the change to Omen of Clarity (allowing it to proc off of healing spells) help to balance that out?

dont forget they moved the mana reduction to some healing spells and that down the balance tree so you can get it easier now. i dont know how much that will help but they seem to buffing some stuff and takeing away from some little spots. i've tryed looking around on wow fourms for druid stuff and i havent seen any resto's complaining yet. i was looking at some of the gear on wowhead i think it was and there is some nice healing gear in the first couple of instances. saw one item with 50 spirit on it i forget what slot. i wouldnt worry too much i mean if they made restos underpowered i'm sure peeps would have piped up by now and said something to get the ball rolling to get un-nerfed. if they havent i'm sure once the expansion comes out there will be some patches to even the playing field out some. i actally sorta like the resto tallents and that but i suck as a healer lol.

I don't really think it is a nerf in any way. We get lots of nice new talents and spells. Blizzard are just trying to move us away from being Lifebloom spammers.

I certainly haven't heard any complaints from beta testers at all which is a good sign as people seem to like to complain :)

Your playstyle may change a little but overall the changes are definitely positive.

I understand that Blizz is trying to make us more versatile healers that make use of both direct heals and HoTs, but our current viability has been from rolling LB stacks and using our other HoTs as needed. Direct heals (HT being our only one) were terribly mana inefficient, and were typically only used with NS in an emergency. As such, we never stacked crit or anything like that.

I have no doubt that we'll be well balanced by the time we hit 80, but until then we're missing our Flash Heal equivalent. I see Nourish as being the primary way that we make up for the loss of Lifebloom's effectiveness. I was just curious if anyone could speak to this from personal experience.

I guess it doesn't really matter, since I'll be able to find out for myself tonight, but seeing as how there's 1 month until the expansion, and probably a month or two more for me to level to 80, I'd like to know if I'm going to be hurting as a healer.

Inscription offers Glyph of Healing Touch, which effectively turns HT from the slowest, biggest single target heal in the game into a Flash Heal/Flash of Light/Lesser Healing Wave equivalent. The cost, cast and effect are all dramatically lowered when it's glyphed. So no worries, the druid Flash Heal equivalent is readily available.

Just everyone try and remember that change isn't always bad :)

There were a lot of people who had problems at the start of BC, because they had trouble changing their mindset from the pre-BC Healing Touch spam style of healing to the King of HoT's style we have now. There may be some pain while people adjust and work out the optimal way to heal etc. but it will all work out :)
