Disc tree to bloated?Follow

Is it just me or is the new disc tree just to bloated with spells its almost unviable.

For example we must improve our shield because that single item has the most if not all of our survivability in the new wotlk environment. Now that we made our shield stronger, we MUST make our shield more resistant to dispels because it is our only real line of defense against damage. So silent resolve is a must. Now that we have our shield squared away we need to look into our next most important survival spell.

Inner fire, Pre wotlk there was no real reason to pick up this skill and most disc builds did not. Now in the name of mana efficiency's we can double the charges we have so that would effectively half the number of times we would have to cast right? well yes but we are forgetting dispels, Thank god we picked up silent resolve. Now as for martyrdom we really dont need it anymore because of the whole spell pushback change. but we will see.

Now we come across more mandatory skills. you see mana is a priests big issue. any disc priest will tell you that they spend 1 minute fighting and 4 minutes drinking and rebuffing and drinking again.. due to dispells and heals and recasts and rebuffs and all that good stuff. so we MUST pick up. meditation and inner focus. because mana is important.

Now we come to 2 more mana conservation skills.. absolution to make our dispels cost less.. what does a priest in arena do most? thats right.. dispel.. some will even say more so than healing. so that talent is a must because you cant heal or dispel when your oom.

Now we are finally done with the mana conservation skills right?.... WRONG!! mental agility. you see most of our survival type skills are instant cast. and in the name of mana effiency we MUST pick up mental agility also. cant heal when your oom.

Now we are finally done with mana type stuff right?... WRONG. mental strength is a must to get to the bottom of the tree and only increases our total mana.

Now i did not anticipate this but i actually just became bored in what i was writing so i guess i will stop here.. but to recap we are halfway through the discipline tree and we have only managed to increase our bubble, armor, and mana conservation.

My end point is that the discipline tree is far to bloated.. we should not have to talent into mana conservation just so we can go 5 casts without running oom. we should not have to spec 3 points into a armor buff tallent just so we dont get three shot.

there are talents on this tree that simply should not be there.. they should be a regular part of what a priest is. not something to waste talent points on.

anyone agree with me or am i just all in the wrong here?

Mate, are we even playing the same game?

MANA a disc priest's biggest issue? Out of ALL characters I've played my disc priest has the most insane regeneration. I haven't tried all healer classes, but I'd really daresay a disc priest is in the top 3 of most mana conserving classes.

For PvP, picking up all the necissary talents in the discipline tree would put you on 53 points. I'd say that's pretty fair; most classes need between 51 and 54. This build should fill all PvP priests' need, with this as alternative if Penance ends up sucking.
