Interesting and your suggestions on leveling to reach that state then? I guess look at your orginal post and go by that?

I'm so confused! lol I've read on DKs and all their stuff for about 2 weeks now and I dont ?&*ing know which way to go regarding talents! It's really confusing! lol :p

Anyone who is using blood see anything wrong with that. I'm soloing right now. Not instancing at all tell I figure out DK. Just wanted your intake on it. Wanting to go blood tree for the health regen while fighting. Will help with leveling a bit quicker.

Why? Well initially I was going to be leveling with another friend who I was having go blood (I think blood is the easiest spec to learn for a 1st time DK), and to compliment him going blood, I was going frost. Since he decided to play his warrior and I was going solo, I decided to go unholy. I know choosing a spec can be confusing because EVERY SPEC IS GOOD TO LEVEL WITH. It comes down to how you want to play, your playstyle as it were. If I was still going frost, I would go the above. I'm not though, I'm going unholy just for fun. I have leveled as blood. I have leveled as frost. I have leveled as unholy. I have enjoyed all three, because I enjoy everything about DK.

Going to slightly necro this thread, as I saw it mentioned by dilbrt, and as he's the person whose posts have made the most sense to me regarding DK's, I'd like his opinion on this spec for tanking (anyone else should [and will, I have no doubt] feel free to comment):

I've not had a chance to use this in a group yet, just for an hour or so in Icecrown.

I'd say the main reason I wanted to try this is because I liked the idea that some the rune abilities I use the most (Pest, BS, DS and OB) would all turn into Death Runes, but like I say I've not had the chance yet to see if this actually benefits me at all.

One thing I did notice this morning when I respecced was that I seemed to have 3 Death Runes permanently, as in not even in combat, but I was fairly tired then, maintenance is on now and I just finished work (3am here), so I could be missing something obvious.

I know I would only need 13 in Blood to max out DRM, but I couldn't see any much better places to put the extra point, so 4/5 Bladed Armour seemed as good a place as any, and it does give me ~450AP.

I took this build from the wowwiki Death Knight Build Sample page and it is dubbed Necromancer. Credit due to whomever posted it there. Apparently it is tested and is ideal for leveling PVE, but I see some good potential for Raiding and possibly PVP. It requires Dual Weps for max DPS and so far so good.
Hoping for Dual-Spec ability soon so I can get more work out of my new Polearm as I have never rolled a 2H wep char before.

Death Runes are practically useless to me so no Reaping with this build.

Thoughts?

There is never a time that this statement can be true and the person is playing the DK to its maximum effectiveness. It would be akin to a rogue saying they dont really need extra combo point generation. Every DK of every spec should be learning how to efficiently use Death Runes to max either their DPS or their Utility.

If you find yourself thinking this, then you have misunderstood something about DK mechanics.

For Unholy, Reaping makes Death runes to create the possibility to do more Scourge Strikes in place of more Blood Strikes, and that would be more damage. Its the same for each tree, Death Runes are fuel for the main Rune attack (Heart Strike, Obliterate, Scourge Strike)

Can I get some opinions on this build...Im still lvling (75) but want a balenced build.
