A year off - need a refresher courseFollow

Hi,

In September last year I took a year long break off of WoW and logged back in earlier this week only to find that I'm more than a bit lost.

Here's my armory profile:

I took my break just before I started tanking heroics. Ever since I hit level 60, I leveled as protection and I was masochistic enough to enjoy every second of it. Unfortunately, after I logged back on, I found myself really lost and I was wandering if anyone could bring me back to speed. What changed for warriors in the last year? I've noticed that now sunder armor has become obsolete as devastate was given a sunder effect.

Somehow I can't make heads or tails of almost anything - I don't have any mods, and wouldn't know what to look for in this respect, I'm flooded with a myriad of strange icons that barely ring any bells, my bank is filled with enchanting items that no longer hold any meaning for me and my quest log is filled with strange group quests and I don't know where to start.

I know that this is much to ask, but could someone give me a refresher course on what has changed in the last year and what to keep in mind in order to start enjoying my warrior again. I'm afraid that every time I log on, I feel so overwhelmed, I feel an urge to drop this warrior altogether and just start a new character. I don't want to, as I had great fun with it and I would love to use my warrior in the coming expansion.

Thanks in advance for all the tips you might have. I would be most obliged if any of you had a falling out with your warrior and could share his story how you managed to get back to playing him (or her).

Read the Warrior F.A.Q. at the top of these forums. There's a TON of information in there.

In terms of what's changed ... go out into Hellfire Peninsula and run around for a bit. The enemies there aren't really a danger to you, and you'll get back into the swing of things a bit. Work your way through the different stances and play around. Playing WoW is like riding a bike ...

Just get a basic feel for things again -- there are big changes to warrior (especially Protection spec) coming with the upcoming patches and expansion anyway, and everyone's going to have to adapt.

EDIT: IMO, you're undergeared for tanking Heroics. Stick to regular difficulty until you gear up a bit more.

Thanks.

By the way, I know I'm still undergeared to do heroics, but I forgot to log out in my defense gear - it's still not perfect, but still better than the one before.
