Does the new Arcane Focus increase the chance to hit on all spells or just arcane spells? It looks like we now have to go into the 2nd tier of the frost tree to get the extra hit for fire spec since the fire tree doesn't have any +hit abilities or is scorch taking care of that?

That's a big hit for spell hit. Those 2 points we put into arcane now with the 2/48/11 build were essential. I guess we will have to gem and enchant for spell hit more than we do now for fire spec.

Remember that in 10 and 25 man raids, you'll likely either have a shadow priest or a moonkin putting up a debuff on the boss that does 3% spell hit. In WotLK, deep fire specs will most likely want to go into Arcane for Spell Impact and Arcane Concentration/Meditation and will thus find themselves needing 14% hit. Frostfire mages, however, will be able to benefit from the debuff as well as picking up Elemental Precision, so their hit concerns will be lower.

Additionally, I don't think Arcane Subtlety will be quite as essential as before, considering what I've heard about how high tank threat in WotLK is supposed to be compared to DPS levels.
