Excessive Rage??????Follow

Is there really such a thing, and if so.....Why?

Yeah...if the tank doesn't get too much agro and you have to back down on yer abilities. Should never happen in solo, when you can spam heroic strike when you get above 70 rage or so.

Eh, just means you should find a better tank. If you're threat capped, there's not much you can do about it. The extra rage never hurts though, you just might not be able to use all of it.

A tank with too much agro? No such thing, ever.

No, there is no such thing as excessive rage. Rage is good. More is better (as long as you're not slacking). 100/100 Rage is good. You'll get a monster execute :)

Rage Starvation...now that sux.

100/100 rage means you suck.

Or it could mean your tank isn't good at holding aggro, so you're holding back. Or it could mean that you are leveling a weapon skill, and not wanting the mob to die too fast. There are a couple of reasons to have 100/100. Of course, none of them are valid in a normal combat situation. :P

Hey - aren't you supposed to be working?

in any real combat situation, if your rage is above 60 you need to start using heroic strike/cleave to get it down and to get some extra damage.

i always want to strangle all the warrior dps or tanks that constantly have 80+ rage. they really dont know what they are doing and usually have low dps

Well, the reason I asked is because I never seem to have a great deal of it, and when I do get it I use it. I don't beleive I've ever had EXTRA rage except at the end of a fight.

Do you mean at the end of a fight, like sub-20%, or when the mob is dead? Because if you have that much rage sub-20%, l2execute

I sometimes find myself having extra rage in Battlegrounds. That's what I get for charging a group of enemies as a decoy while my dps casters burn'em!

I personally don't use Execute very often at the end of fights, especially when fighting mobs close together (such as doing the IofQD dailies). I tend to like having that extra 20-30 rage to carry over to the next fight, and unless things get way out of hand I never let my rage drop below 10 - as that means that I have enough rage to pull off a spell reflect, shield slam or intercept if things go wrong or I get attacked by a pvp-er.

On the whole my dps over a number of mobs is better if I keep the rage between mobs, rather than finish each one slightly quicker with a big execute. Maybe this means that I'm doing something wrong, but for the time being I'm happy with it and I'll keep doing it.
